What high tariffs mean to me: less cheap crap with short useful lives (i.e. they break and can't be repaired) and more high quality made in USA items that are initially more expensive but actually less expensive when accounting for their useful lives.

China's trade with Europe has also increased. We (the U.S.) are not as important to China as it was in the past. That pattern will continue and increase even more if Trump raises tariffs even more

We have had Bucee's gasoline and cult stores open up, based out of Texas. Went into it, and started checking where the merchandise comes from, and only one item didnt come from China. We did ok when trade agreements were a part of negotiations on behalf of sovereign nations. Now they are used to facilitate global interests, and that's what NAFTA and the recent "free trade" agreements are-tools to shove political goals down out throats and curry favor because we destroyed our own manufacturing base.
