Zone1 Let it be said that legalized abortion on demand cheapens/ devalues life.

Do you agree that legalized abortion has a net effect of devaluing life?

This still you?

Edit to add. You may choose to believe the laws are settled, but that places no obligation on me or on anyone else to agree with you on that.

Does it.

The laws have been changed and Roe v. Wade overturned. Did you miss that little tidbit?

That post was from almost 7 years ago.

Nobody else is obligated to see the overturning of Roe (kicking it back to the States) as the end of it. Just because you have that expectation.

That may be your belief or understanding, but it isn't realistic and it's not going to play out that way.

In fact a lot of pro-aborts disagree with you too and they are lobbying to get Roe reinstated.

If they manage to get the majority and the power to do so, you can bet they will try.

"Also, a fetus isn't a human. It is a fetus. The brain of a fetus doesn't even start to function until it is soon to be born. And that it will eventually become a human means nothing. Especially with over 8 billion people already on the planet. Another point is that by about the year 2050, they will all most likely be dead anyway. Along with the rest of most of the life on this planet. "

Very informative.

May I conclude from that - that you have a little less value of human life, given that they COULD have or should have just as easily been aborted and that might save you some money?
Yep, if they are gonna be part of the welfare state as soon as they pop-out and all the associated issues that goes with that going forward then we are better off as a society without them.

Only women have babies. Every baby born to a woman dies. Every woman who decides to have a baby decides it will die. Women already have the power of decision. Everyone not female of child-bearing capacity has little credible basis for exercising control over those that are.

You could not be more wrong. SCOTUS said that was the end. Trying to change anything other than your state's laws are ridiculously stupid. It is not going anywhere. SCOTUS basically ruled that there cannot be a federal law regarding abortion because it is i the purview of the states.

Have you done anything in regard to your state? In my state, abortion is illegal in almost every case. Where do you live and what is the current law? If you don't like it, do something about your state legislators.

Could you quote that?

I doubt the SCOTUS ever said Dobbs was the end but if they did say that, they were wrong.

Like, Dred Scott wrong!

Also, this has nothing to do with the op.

What does that have to do with the OP?

Google is your friend. I will not link to something obvious to high school dropout. If your academic achievement fails to even meet that level, it will explain a lot.

Roe v. Wade was wrong, and Dobbs corrected it. Just like Brown corrected Plessy. It took an amendment to overrule Scott. Deny it all you want, but you are intentionally ignoring the truth. You would know that it you knew anything of the issue of judicial review.

If you think you will get a constitutional amendment on abortion, you are pissing up a rope.

Don't be stupid. We are all full up and have a surplus.

Still has nothing to do with the OP Topic.

I would like to explore some your rant further sometime.

Maybe I"ll create an appropriate thread for that, some other time.

Your OP topic is beating a dead horse. What part of that do you not understand?

You might as well start a thread advocating we repeal the law of gravity. That's why you have lost all grasp on reality.

You have strong feelings on the issue. We get that, but your tactics are all wrong to affect any change.

Opinion noted.

Would you like to be put on ignore? Or what?

You are not going to affect this thread or any of my other efforts whith your incessant whining.

Sorry not sorry.

legalized abortion on demand cheapens/ devalues life.

Of course it does... many things do...
Great point!

There are indeed a lot of things going on that also may be having the effect of lowering the overall value of human life!

Do you agree that legalized abortion has an effect of devaluing life in a society that sees abortions as anything less than a violation of the basic human rights of the children that are denied and killed?

Here is a link to a news story that I feel illustrates the point very well.

Just to make sure I understand your point clearly:
You’re saying that legalized abortion contributes to a culture that devalues life. And the article you linked describes a man who killed his girlfriend because she wouldn’t get an abortion.

Wouldn't that suggest he valued his own comfort over her life — and that her refusal to abort (i.e. to preserve the pregnancy) didn’t protect her from violence?

I’m not sure that case supports your argument as intended. If anything, it shows that criminal acts come from people disregarding others’ autonomy, not because abortion is legal.

Out of curiosity, how would you interpret stories like these?

Josseli Barnica: died of sepsis after being denied care during a miscarriage in Texas.

Nevaeh Crain: a teen who died after three ER visits where she was sent home each time.

Yeni Glick: suffered permanent damage after care was delayed for a non-viable pregnancy.

Porsha Ngumezi: died in ICU after her miscarriage care was delayed due to fear over abortion law.

And it’s not just isolated cases. Here’s a broader analysis:

I’m open to hearing how you square these outcomes with the idea that banning abortion affirms the value of life. Because from this angle, it seems like it’s creating serious risks for women, sometimes fatal ones. That's "data" too isn't it.

Another example of the mindset.

Right out of their playbook!

I wish there was a "Flaming Anger" emoji to apply to ignorant stuff like this.

I guess you don't know how ignore works. I can still make fun of you to everyone else, and you'd never know that I was destroying your argument.

All you have us whining throughout the whole thread, wasn't that your purpose in posting it? Nothing you have said has turned out to be anything other than flailing that horse corpse.
