Leave it to Texas republicans to ban books. Free speech is circumstantial, apparently.

So is it unnecessary to say a character has opposite sex marriage partner? That logic works either way.
I would suggest that if it is so necessary to suggest that a character has a same-sex partner, the story is probably not one I would want any child of mine exposed to, it my taxes paying to put in the schools.

My parents (both teachers) monitored the reading assignments my brothers and I received all the way through our public school educations. I don’t remember them ever stopping us from reading anything, but they made sure they knew what we were being exposed to.

You’re just making up your own arbitrary rules. Your position lacks any objective thought. You simply don’t like gay people. That’s all your opinion boils down to. It wouldn’t be necessary to say a boy has a crush on a girl in a book, but if it happens oh well. It doesn’t matter.

Umm okay. Again think about this rationally. A kid picks up a book with gay characters in it. There’s no sex or nudity in it. That would do….what to the kid?
Depending on their age, really fuck with their head.

Sorry most people prefer their children not witness an adult teaching putting condoms on a dildo,
or
Telling boys they are girls……..And they certainly don’t need to learn how to get blow jobs.

Sooner or later this trashy ass bull shit will be stopped the parents are getting pissed and rightfully so!!!!!

You will not mentally rape our children!!!!

UUuuhm Noooo
Whoever handed out that material should be arrested and charged with something.

Doesn't matter if a parent likes or dislikes queers. The parent determines what their child is exposed to. Can't you get that through your deranged skull?

So republicans are concerned books are “pornographic” if they have gay characters in it. There doesn’t have to be sex or nudity in these books of course. They are simply pornographic for having gay characters lol. Republicans have the emotional maturity of 8th graders. This is ironic, of course, because they are pretending to they want to protect kids of such an age.

Think about this critically, republicans. Let’s say a kid’s book has a gay character in it who is fully clothed through out and a child read it. Do you really think with any rationality that this would turn the kid gay?

Why do you think it's a good idea to discuss ideas of gender and sexual orientation to preteen kids? Why is it necessary to insert sexuality in books to these children?

I am sure you will have a well reasoned and thoughtful response.

I don’t like about 97.3% of the people on the planet, regardless of their sexual orientation.

Actually, I believe that up until a certtage it DOES matter. Personally, I believe that age is somewhere between 14 and 16 (roughly the beginning of high school). Up until that point, there is no need for these children to be exposed to any form of sexual or romantic content at all.

I never said it was necessary. I don’t at all care if a kid never gets exposed to what I’m talking about. Simply put, if they are exposed, it doesn’t at all matter.

Lol okay well no one cares about your self-righteous mindset about people.

I imagine you’re okay with a married straight couple in a kid’s book. That’s technically a sexual relationship. The logic easily goes both ways.
Sure. We're okay with a married male and female in a book. We're not okay with married queers in a children's book. Do you get it yet?
