I would suggest that if it is so necessary to suggest that a character has a same-sex partner, the story is probably not one I would want any child of mine exposed to, it my taxes paying to put in the schools.So is it unnecessary to say a character has opposite sex marriage partner? many parents (both teachers) monitored the reading assignments my brothers and I received all the way through our public school educations. I don’t remember them ever stopping us from reading anything, but they made sure they knew what we were being exposed to.

So republicans are concerned books are “pornographic” if they have gay characters in it. There doesn’t have to be sex or nudity in these books of course.
