Not the first time, and certainly won't be the last time.....a Democrat leader lies to smear the other side.
It is their modus operandi.

1. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:

“On the events on September 11, 2001, thousands of Americans died in the largest terror attack on US soil,” Ocasio-Cortez told host Chris Hayes.

“Our national response was war in one then eventually two countries: 3,000 Americans died in Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria. Where is our response?”

2.(CNN) — Puerto Rico’s true death toll from Hurricane Maria remains elusive as the storm’s one-year anniversary approaches.
The island government raised the official death toll to 2,975 on Tuesday after maintaining for months that 64 people had died as a result of the storm.
But the higher figure, based on the findings of researchers from George Washington University in a study commissioned by the US commonwealth’s government, is only an approximation, not a concrete list of names, according to Gov. Ricardo Rossello.

“This number can change,” Rossello said. “It could be less, it could be more, as time passes.” How Puerto Rico’s death toll climbed from 64 to 2,975 in Hurricane Maria

3. "...Puerto Rico’s government—led by a governor with the island’s pro-statehood party who is also a Democrat…”
Trump Denies Heavy Death Toll in Puerto Rico From Hurricane Maria

4. “….only an approximation, not a concrete list of names,…”…..no list of the names of any beyond about 64…..

If you asked for the names of those who died at Pearl Harbor….you could get it.

Or at the Twin Towers, in NYC…..no prob.

But….then, the Left didn’t have to blame those on Trump.

Did I mention Rule #1: Every argument by the Left is a fabrication, misrepresentation, or bald-faced lie.

The only way you get to that 3,000 number.....
…..any deaths, months after, for whatever reason, is attributed to the hurricane, and used against Trump’s correct statement about a far, far smaller number.

Is that how we enumerate the deaths caused by events?

Or, only when a Republican is President?

If we use the same methodology, Pearl Harbor deaths was not the 2,400 so described…..but rather the 70-80 million attributed to WWII

5. Lies are their way of life.

It is essential to recognize that the word has 'lie' has two different meaning to the Left and to the Right.
When applied to the Right, it is taken as an insult, to be responded to, to be proven incorrect.
To the Left it is to be shrugged at, an acceptable mode of debate.
They don't care if they are known to be liars. You'll see that time and again in their posts.

Oh....BTW.....in case you missed it, Mueller: no collusion with Russia by Trump.

Democrat leaders lie to the people??

Hang on..

Yep, water is still wet, at least the water out of My tap.

Well, a higher number is not entirely fatuous. What about someone who requires dialysis and because of the power outage they die shortly of kidney failure (or whatever it would be)? What of those who require life-sustaining drugs, the supply of which runs out? What of those who are infirm and the disruption of the food supply, transportation, sanitation, and so forth is the "final straw"? Lack of clean drinking water?

It would be speculative to pinpoint a number of such people, but surely many hundreds of them exist.

We have news reports constantly telling us how air pollution causes deaths, and no one questions it. That hurricane caused many premature deaths, although certainly there are some that may or may not have been precipitated by the power outage and other stresses.

I don't think 3,000 premature deaths is out of the question. It might even be low.

it *might* even be too high.

she's not getting into the speculation, but if you allow anything and everything to be attributed to the hurricane, are you being honest, or political?

First, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not a leader in the Democratic Party no matter how much Republicans try to brand her as one. AOC holds no significant leadership positions in the Democratic Party.
Second, Republicans have no credibility to criticize anyone of lying as long as Trump is their leader. He alone is the record-holding Liar in Chief and is comparable as a compulsive serial liar to no other .

Those aren’t lies, they’re exaggerations.

You are full of shit. The number of deaths attributed to the hurricane skyrocketed after people found out that the US taxpayers were handing out free funeral money.

In other words, it's just plain good ol' fashioned fraud.

lying to smear the other side?

something TRUMP DOES EVERY DAY?!?!?!?

ha ha ha

something YOU do regularly (if one considers misinformation and partial truths coupled with purposely omitting facts as LYING)

And, of course, we never heard such a misappropriation of the facts under a Democrat President.

So you begin your thread WITH A LIE, that AOC is in the leadership of the Democratic Party, to call out what you perceive, but can not come close to proving, is a lie of AOC's?

Come on....

Was it a lie when we had a lower count of deaths in Katrina to then have an increased amount of deaths when all was said and done?

Can you name those who died in Katrina, like 9/11 or Pearl Harbor? Is there a list where we know all of their names?

unless you count the time obama was trying to say 40% or more of gun sales are illegal or lack background checks.

Then we can say that because Puerto Rican government, knowing full well that they can, will, and DO have hurricanes, yet never prepared for one, we can say that the political elites in Puerto Rico are responsible for killing 3,000 people through selfishness and negligence?

Political shenanigans mask true problems in Puerto Rico

This month marks the one-year anniversary of Hurricanes Irma and Maria striking Puerto Rico, and Democrats believe this is a good election-year campaign theme on which to attack President Trump and Republicans.

In fact, Democrats want you to believe that the 3,000 deaths that occurred in Puerto Rico were because President Trump and his administration ignored this Spanish-speaking U.S. territory, home to millions of American citizens.

This claim could not be further from the truth, and is the very definition of fake news.

First and foremost, the Trump administration's response was unprecedented - "the longest sustained domestic air mission of food and water response ... the largest disaster commodity distribution mission in U.S. history," spending more than $70 billionin aid, supplying 3.8 million meals, sending 148 airlifts and deploying the USS Comfort.

Puerto Rico Government Officials Face Corruption Probe

Puerto Rico's chief of staff and three other government officials are facing accusations of undue influence.

The U.S. territory's justice secretary said Wednesday there's enough evidence to submit a case to special independent prosecutors who investigate government corruption. Among those being investigated are Chief of Staff William Villafane, Associate Secretary to the Interior Ministry Itza Garcia, water and sewer company vice president Yoniel Arroyo, and Administration for the Sustenance of Minors manager Waleska Maldonado.
