Like I said I posted the laws in Wisconsin explained by two legal firms. I'll post them again when I get back home as I'm leaving in a few minutes. As I stated repeatedly, you are covered under self-defense with a deadly weapon "IF" you did everything possible to remove yourself from a situation you'd likely have to use that weapon. He did the opposite. He deliberately took a weapon into a situation where he knew he'd likely have to use it.

why wasn't evidence presented against Kyle for violating either of those two laws?

What a piece of shit this kid really is. The defense has tried to portray him as a boy scout, trying to help people, and his "breakdown" was one of the worst pieces of acting I've ever seen. One of the "excluded" pieces of evidence was that he beat up and girl and punched her in the face.

Driving without a license, on a regular basis. Buying a gun he wasn't legally old enough to buy. When the building he was supposedly "protecting" was safe, he went into the crowd, looking for trouble. Lock this piece of shit up and throw away the key.

I just thought of something this witness said now testifying and is describing, Kyle raised his hands to surrender, but the cop said they don't pay attention to that unless it is followed up by getting down on the ground or dropping the weapon. So the prosecution stating grosskruetz had his hands up and still holding his gun, did not remove the threat, from the cops own words, that is not considered surrender. So the prosecutor is wrong with his explanation of the encounter.

Rittenhouse's behaviour was very provacative. He pointed his gun at one man. I would say that the people he subsequently killed indicated that they greatly feared this kid.

So much so they chased him for 100yards or so.

The motive is simple, it’s obvious to anyone with a brain that the prosecution failed to prove that Rittenhouse did anything that they charged him with and the prosecution wants a do over. A mistrial is their only chance at that. Plus a mistrial is less persuave to a civil jury than an acquittal in a trial for wrongful prosecution and prosecutorial misconduct. At this point, the trial is over and the prosecution is in damage control mode.
