Keep your eye on this woman.

Kristi Noem was the first governor to outlaw transgender sports in her state.

Now she just signed a bill prohibiting the teaching of CRT and any other racist ideology in South Dakota colleges.

Her state stayed open during Covid, too. And prospered because of it

She's presidential material, even though she needs more foreign policy experience. Her domestic policy is great, though. I predict an exploratory committee for the 2024 race

You have yet to explain to me what CRT really is.

That's why we love her!

I moved back to South Dakota, the state of my birth, last August, after comparing EVERYTHING Governor Noem did so well to the sleazy, corrupt career of the foul swine Jay Inslee. Damn! I feel like I can breathe again!

Never heard of google?

From your own Cite. It doesn't say a damned thing. It talks in circles.

What is Critical Race Theory?

An outgrowth of the European Marxist school of critical theory, critical race theory is an academic movement which seeks to link racism, race, and power. Unlike the Civil Rights movement, which sought to work within the structures of American democracy, critical race theorists challenge the very foundations of the liberal order, such as rationalism, constitutional law, and legal reasoning. Critical race theorists argue that American social life, political structures, and economic systems are founded upon race, which (in their view) is a social construct.

Systemic racism, in the eyes of critical race theorists, stems from the dominance of race in American life. Critical race theorists and anti-racist advocates argue that, because race is a predominant part of American life, racism itself has become internalized into the American conscience. It is because of this, they argue, that there have been significantly different legal and economic outcomes between different racial groups.

From what I can see, it's the actions of ultra left and right wingers that try and drive things may fall under this "Theory" but the rest of us don't. You still haven't given a definition of CRT to the normal person and why we need to exclude it from our history.

Here is an example of what it is really.
The basic tenets of critical race theory, or CRT, emerged out of a framework for legal analysis in the late 1970s and early 1980s created by legal scholars Derrick Bell, Kimberlé Crenshaw, and Richard Delgado, among others.

A good example is when, in the 1930s, government officials literally drew lines around areas deemed poor financial risks, often explicitly due to the racial composition of inhabitants. Banks subsequently refused to offer mortgages to Black people in those areas.

So does that mean they don't talk about racism in S.D colleges. No school, no college, it's like slavery never happened or blacks weren't marginalized.

This whole CRT thing is a perfect example of why GOP politicians spend so much time on the cultural issues.

How will minorities and most Dems react to this news? They'll roll their eyes and shake their head.

How will Trumpsters react to this news? With gleeful shouting, wild celebration and fists in the air.

And does that translate to the voting booth? It sure as hell does.

Imagine having politicians that actually work for the things that you want to see happen. The left should be envious of the right for that.

For those who ask, what exactly is CRT theory......MLK explains it perfectly......you remember MLK right...He's the same guy that the folks who whine about CRT don't want you to learn about other than what they watered him down to be....

"Far from the colorblind conservative Christian that exists in the memories of the Right, King wrote "With all her dazzling achievements and stupendous material strides, America has maintained its strange ambivalence on the question of racial justice......the same people lambasting “handouts” to African Americans were provided an economic safety net and subsidized into the middle class.....King said “The step backward has a new name today. It is called ‘white backlash’.”

And for today's GOP who tries to claim "conservatives" played no part in opposing Civil Rights; by childishly claiming "but but the KKK were Democrats" or claiming "We're the party of Lincoln" -- MLK was very clear about that too....

"The GOP is quick to raise the Party of Lincoln banner, while King argued that the “illustrious ghost of Abraham Lincoln is not sufficient for winning Negro confidence, not so long as the party fails to shrink the influence of its ultra-right wing.”

All of these right-wingers professing their love for MLK or either lying or never actually read any book by the man himself...they definitely never read "Where do we go from here?" --- he explicitly lays out the foundation of what much of CRT doctrine is grounded on.....

Another one of the 1000's of MLK quotes Conservatives don't want anyone to learn about....

Hmm.....so MLK said this country embedded racist white supremacy not only in the legal system, but in every structural part of the culture?? Including schools?? and in the churches too?? Hmm....So, indoctrinating kids with white supremacy all these years... that's cool......but having them learn about how that happened, that's bad....got it...

Was This when he started getting paid by big name universities? Or before when he was just fighting for equal rights?

Noem said. "College should remain a place where freedom of thought and expression are encouraged, not stifled by political agendas."
..attempting to stifle the critical thinking skills of her young adult residents to further her political agenda.

Boy, the songs Glen Miller played..

I wonder if anyone can point to an example of CRT being taught in SD prior to this amazing thing the Gov did

Way to spout the talking points.

You don't know much about South Dakota.

If you're going to quote song lyrics in an attempt to say something relevant, you might be more credible if you did it correctly.
