SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Just days after a South Dakota agency moved to deny her daughter’s application to become a certified real estate appraiser, Gov. Kristi Noem summoned to her office the state employee who ran the agency, the woman’s direct supervisor and the state labor secretary.
Noem’s daughter attended too.
Kassidy Peters, then 26, ultimately obtained the certification in November 2020, four months after the meeting at her mother’s office. A week after that, the labor secretary called the agency head, Sherry Bren, to demand her retirement, according to an age discrimination complaint Bren filed against the department. Bren, 70, ultimately left her job this past March after the state paid her $200,000 to withdraw the complaint.
Exactly what transpired at the July 27, 2020, meeting in the governor’s office isn’t clear. Noem declined an interview request and her office declined to answer detailed questions about the meeting.

In any other state she would have already resigned

Maybe you haven't been following Hunter Xiden's escapades, like $86,000 a month from Burisma in Ukraine, or $1,500,000,000 from China to "invest", or how about a few $million for Hunter's "paintings", then lets not forget the few $million from the Moscow mayor's wife?

Your fake outrage over nothing. You forgot to prove that the daughter was unqualified for the certification. Was there a test? Did she flunk? Or was the state just correcting an oversight?

We don’t want to talk about that. Let’s focus on a daughter trying to get a property appraisal job that pays about 75 k a year.

<sob>. But….But……What about Hunter Biden?

Her daughter FAILED to get the cert. it's not rocket science either. She must be a fucking DOPE.

And what did Mommy do?

She used her position as Governor to get her daughter that license.

That's outright corruption by any measure

Noem fired the head of that department and then when called on it the STATE had to pay $200K

The state didn't have to pay the $200,000. They could have litigated the forced retirement.
70 is more than old enough to force retirement.
Xiden should have retired a decade ago, we'd all be better off.

Democrat speculation? Nice way to say "lying". They have assailed her over and over with their lies. They hate her because they cannot back her down. They will not break her.
I hope not. We’ve seen it too many times. All but one Republican has folded. I hope she is the second, third etc. we should be in the thousands by now. Trump showed you how to do it.

SD is a pretty fucked up place

Days after South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg fatally struck a man while driving in September, detectives told the Republican official they had found a pair of broken reading glasses inside his Ford Taurus. They belonged to the man he killed.
That was a problem, detectives said, because Ravnsborg, 44, said he didn’t know he had hit a man until the following day, when he returned to the scene and found the body of Joseph Boever, 55, in a ditch.
“They’re Joe’s glasses, so that means his face came through your windshield,” one of the detectives said in an interview released by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety on Tuesday.
Things are so dire for Ravnsborg right now that even the Republican Governor of South Dakota has called on him to do the right thing and resign. Ravnsborg has so far said he won't resign though.

Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg’s future as the state’s top prosecutor took two major blows Tuesday after Gov. Kristi Noem said he should resign and lawmakers in the House of Representatives started impeachment proceedings.
The developments followed last week’s charges against Ravnsborg in the Sept. 12, 2020 death of Joseph Boever, 55, who was struck by the attorney general's vehicle while walking on Highway 14 West of Highmore.
As she called for his resignation, Noem also promised to release more materials related to the investigation, which happened Tuesday evening with two videos detailing Ravnsborg's interviews with law enforcement.
“Now that the investigation has closed and charges have been filed, I believe the Attorney General should resign," Noem said. "I have reviewed the material we are releasing, starting today, and I encourage others to review it as well.”

The AG is SUPPOSED to be all about upholding the law

He ought to be in jail but he's STILL the AG

SD is a pretty fucked up place

Sure it is, with no businesses or jobs lost to the plandemic and plenty of new jobs coming to Sioux Falls, and Governor Noem's pledge that we will take no illegals and there will be no vaccine passport bullshit. That's about as fucked up as it gets!

Good point. I’m sure the governor intervenes in the decisions of appraiser licenses all the time and this just happened to coincidentally involve her daughter.
The sound of desperation. The squeal of little leftist piggies when they realize they can't tear somebody down with any real weapons, because their weapons are very dull from improper use.
