I work at the hospital, not for the hospital. And I take health advice from the people that work the ER, not from the admin policy makers. The staff there loves me and wouldn't want to see any harm come to me, I've fought too many PCP smoking MICAs to keep them safe for them not to care.

If wearing a mask in my area is mandatory, I haven't been made aware of it yet. The only time that I have one on is when I am at work and just a little bit ago, I was at my local Wal-Mart. I wasn't wearing one and obviously no one was bothered by it. The only time that I was approached was when I paid for my things and the "confrontation" if it can be labeled one only concerned how the self checkout registers are now. Sadly, they are card only now. Cash can't be accepted and it can't be given back either.

I had to go to the liquor store and WalMart yesterday; I was super nice to all the employees who asked and/or demanded I mask up, but I was also extremely firm that I was not going to do so. I repeatedly asked if they wanted my business or not and they did. So I did my shopping and went about my day.

Amen to this. If the business is needed badly enough, those who beg can not choose if they deal with.

Sounds like he's a security guard, or more likely a "rent-a-cop" for the hospital. As a contract worker he doesn't technically work for the hospital, but labor law wouldn't phrase it that way. I can't understand the hospital not requiring he wear a mask, not to protect himself, but to protect the patients. Since he has a high likelyhood to be an asymptomatic carrier.
