Jury finds 2 men not guilty in Whitmer kidnap case; unable to reach verdicts on 2 others

Grand Rapids — Jurors acquitted two men Friday accused of plotting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and deadlocked on charges against the two alleged ringleaders, delivering a staggering blow to the government in one of the largest domestic terrorism cases in recent U.S. history.

Chief U.S. District Robert Jonker declared a mistrial on kidnapping conspiracy charges against accused ringleaders Adam Fox, 38, of Potterville, and Barry Croft, 46, of Delaware. Accused plotters Daniel Harris, 24, of Lake Orion, and Brandon Caserta, 34, of Canton Township, were being freed Friday afternoon after nearly two years behind bars.

Dem heads are going to explode.
Yet another FBI fabricated crime fails.

I know why you guys side with the kidnappers

Whitmer blamed former President Donald Trump for fomenting anger over coronavirus restrictions and refusing to condemn right-wing extremists like those charged in the case.

They never kidnapped anyone it was a PLOT to kidnap which the Jury were not convinced on the charges.

"The trial lasted 20 days, including 13 days of testimony and approximately 38 hours of jury deliberations spanning five days. Jurors — six men, six women, all white — heard hours of closing arguments and instructions last week after testimony and a multimedia case from the government."

It appears they had the time and the testimony to decide on.

The Plotting to kidnap is stupid but the Governor was violating numerous laws in her bid to rule by decree.

Meanwhile Whiter violated her state rules in ignoring the state legislature decisions on the emergency status she had which does have a time limit which she ignored.

The vile woman was going way over her powers of office of Governor as she bypassed the state legislature many times acting like a dictator the asshole overran the laws in the state as the Michigan Supreme court UNANIMOUSLY ruled she was behaving unconstitutionally and was supposed to stop using the emergency powers after April 30 as set by the Legislature which she ignored.

IT’S OFFICIAL: Whitmer Stripped of Her Emergency Powers

But another Democrat red herring bites the dust In Michigan, the Department of Justice accused six men of conspiring to kidnap Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer in late 2020. Although two men pleaded out, four went to trial. On Friday, the jury acquitted two of the defendants and deadlocked as to the other two, resulting in a mistrial. The reason for this DOJ failure? The fact that the FBI made up 12 of the 18 people involved in the plot and were clearly entrapping the remaining six.

The defendants who went to trial were Daniel Harris; Brandon Caserta; Adam Fox (the alleged ringleader); and Barry Croft, Jr. After hearing 13 days of testimony, the jurors concluded that Harris and Caserta were not guilty of conspiracy to kidnap Governor Whitmer, as well as concluding that Harris was not guilty of conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction, along with other firearms charges.

The jury deadlocked when it came to Fox and Croft, leading to a mistrial. In theory, that means the men can be retried. In fact, though, the prosecution is going to have to think long and hard whether it wants to expose itself to another potential failure based upon an American jury's deep distaste for watching law enforcement try to destroy people's lives through deliberate entrapment.

Another example of the FBI's little army of paid gestapo informants making a phony terrorist case just before the election. The lesson is to be careful what you say on social sites because the gestapo might have their ear phones on and you might be in their sites

The American Stasi aren't very good at it yet.

But they're trying.
On the contrary, they are very good at it and have been doing it for a long time. The war on drugs has given them a lot of practice. On the rare occasion when sources and methods become known, they are categorically rejected.
Don't be the one left holding the bag.

Sounds like they should go after the FBI agents involved.
Nonsense

The first time federal prosecutors tried to convince a jury that a group of men plotted to kidnap Michigan’s Democratic governor, they failed to get a single conviction. But on Tuesday, jurors in a second trial found the two remaining defendants guilty, providing a measure of vindication to federal law enforcement in a case filled with public setbacks.

the men went on “reconnaissance missions” to the home, how they accumulated high-powered guns and how they discussed blowing up a bridge to prevent the police from responding to the kidnapping.
The case was seen as indicative of the rising threat of political violence and right-wing domestic terrorism, even before the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. But proving the charges in Michigan meant persuading jurors to trust a sprawling F.B.I. investigation that included several undercover federal operatives.
In the first trial this spring, jurors acquitted two other men and deadlocked on the charges against Mr. Croft and Mr. Fox. That result, at a time of growing conservative distrust in the F.B.I., raised questions about the bureau’s investigative tactics, especially their prolific use of informants and undercover agents. But even as those issues remained, the verdicts on Tuesday were seen as a warning against political extremism and a sign that the word of an F.B.I. agent can still carry weight with juries.

“I’m hopeful that this verdict will cause people to think twice before they engage in this kind of domestic terrorism,” said Barbara McQuade, who was the top federal prosecutor in Detroit during Barack Obama’s presidency. She called the jury’s decision “an important victory for the rule of law, for democracy and also for those who care about law enforcement.”

That was enough to prevent a FBI lynching.
I have to remember how much of a die hard nazi you are. You would even defend kidnapping your political opponents. You wouldn't convict. Same way Mitch wouldn't convict Trump even though he admitted Trump was guilty. Just that because Trump lost, he was no longer the president anymore so convicting him of impeachment would not be appropriate. But Trump was still the acting president. He was just on his way out. But Mitch should have convicted him because now we have the possibility of Trump running again. He should not be allowed. He needs to be convicted of a felony so he's not qualified. Which felony? Pick one.

FBI lynching? That's funny. So when the law catches right wingers, it's always a conspiracy. And like a lawyer you pick apart every action and even the police officers history and if you find anything even remotely democratic, it's a witch hunt.

Just like Republicans in Georgia refuse to believe what a scumbag Hershel Walker is. They don't believe the woman who he paid to have an abortion. Even though time and time again he's caught lying. You guys don't care. He's your liar.

Well, that's one vote for a Stassi style secret police that indulges in entrapment tactics against political opponents, anyway.
