In the New Testament we have this verse:
2 Corinthians 11:3
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Here Paul compares Eve's being beguiled by the serpent with those in his day having their minds corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. In other words, Eve was corrupted by following after false teachings of the serpent and Paul fears that likewise the Corinthians would also be corrupted by false teachings of their day. Although Eve, being a woman, would not be mention before Adam in reference to the fall, the story was well known by the people and they knew that it was first Eve who partook of the forbidden fruit and then Adam. Both were guilty of disobedience to God's command not to partake of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Surely Eve was not exempt and she became subject unto death as well as Adam.
