Judge Bars Proof of Citizenship for Voting

God forbid any of you read the article

Instead, she agreed that the Constitution gives states and Congress the authority to regulate elections, and that Trump's requirements violated the separation of powers.

The Constitution "does not grant the President any specific powers over elections," she wrote.

Incredible how many of you want a king.
That's the first post of yours I have liked in a long time! Well done!

America has unfortunately been taken over by Judges, claiming they do the correct job over Republicans in 75% of the cases.
Nope! It is Trump who is trying every unconstitutional act after another that he can, to gain power for the Presidency....these unconstitutional grabs for power by Trump, is being challenged by mostly the States and civil rights groups.... It is Trump who is causing everything he E/Os to be challenged and in front of a judge.

Maybe we should pass a law, making illegal entry into this country a felony and a disqualifier from ever voting.

No one needs to invent a law saying that only American citizens should be voting in federal elections. And the only way to know your elections are honest is to check ID. Same as no one should need to pass a law that an election being held on election day should not encompass people voting, counting and handing in ballots for a MONTH, especially when whole countries like France count their ballots in 6 hours.

If elections weren't run as total shams by democrats, there'd be no need for an EO.
Somebody needs to tell President Trump that Executive Orders only apply to the executive branch of the federal government and have no jurisdiction over state laws. That is a major fault that I do hold against his administration. Obama tried the same thing until SCOTUS smacked his pee-pee one too many times.

Being here illegally already disqualifies you. Any rational person understands this.

Getting laws passed requires effort and compromise. Trump hates both.

This is what happens when you try to legislate through EO. It requires Federal legislation.
Federal legislation requires that only US citizens can register to vote in Federal elections. It's not like the President made that up.

Great! Now republicans can acquire votes from countries around the world who identify with liberty and freedom. I’ll start by getting millions of Japanese to vote in my local town council elections.

Yes, Trump is trampling privacy rights by making his lists.

The NVRA of 1993

Like the President's EO, the Save Act would reuqire documented proof of citizenship. There is nothing the NVRA of 1993 about voter ID
The National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA), also known as the Motor Voter Act, is a federal law aimed at increasing voter registration and participation in elections. Signed into law by President Bill Clinton on May 20, 1993, it requires states to offer voter registration services at the same time as applying for or renewing a driver's license or other state services. The NVRA also aims to protect the integrity of the electoral process by making it more difficult for states to remove individuals from voter registration lists .

Where do you see citizenship addressed?

You can't get Medicare without proving your id to them.

How is he trampling privacy rights?

Give us some examples.
A federal judge blocked the Trump administration's effort to use a centralized database of Americans' personal information to purge voter rolls, ruling that the initiative unlawfully "trampled" on citizen privacy rights. [1, 2]

Court Rulings and Privacy Violations
  • Database Injunction: U.S. District Court Judge Sparkle Sooknanan struck down the administration's expanded use of the SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) program, which the administration overhauled to aggregate millions of Americans' sensitive data. [1, 2]
  • Statutory Breaches: The judge found the system violated the federal Privacy Act, the Social Security Act, and the Administrative Procedure Act. The government bypassed public notice requirements and illegally shared Social Security numbers and related records. [1, 2]
