The dowager recently Pelosi expropriated (using her power as House Speaker) the people's retirement accounts for her party's disposal to the tune of $2.4 billion dollars that was forced by the post-Depression era Congress to put aside 7 to 8% of their paychecks plus the same amount from their employers to provide for social security at retirement age, after a law was passed to waive the Constitution that said not to tax American citizens. The idea was to make sure the money was allowed to grow like an investment, but a few decades later, Congress began dipping into the fund to help pay for this, that, and the other. My guess is that since the "insurance policy" failed to unseat President Trump thus far, the Democrats are (in case their railroad job on President Trump false impeachment falls through) going to use the money Nancy Pelosi expropriated to fund projects that can be easily used to transfer cash to Democrat pockets if they have to get out of Dodge on account of taxpayers angry enough to kill them all for stealing their retirement purses. What's to stop her?
Why can't the people stop this 3-year-long false impeachment marathon that engenders a lot of hate against every participating elected Democrat, who now have a Golden Parachute if they leave the country to avoid getting sued by people who want their social security money back. I certainly hope so. I've been around DC since the Nixon era, and never saw the incredibly infantile behavior that we are seeing now, regardless of which party held what office. We can't just blame the kids for the lack of respect for the rules of decorum and procedure, since so many of them are older, such as rump. It's hideous.

All the people that Trump ordered to not testify enjoy a Constitutional privilege of being in a separate but equal branch of government and they have rights against this kind of witch hunt.
Of course, if the show was being done in the Judiciary right from the start, and the Republican's were permitted to cross-examine all witnesses (notice I don't use the term fact witness, as there have been no facts to date) then I dare say, they would have been permitted to testify with all the rights granted them by executive privilege.
But I won't say any of that as I don't want to be responsible for any aneurysm you may have.
