A month after undergoing a physical exam in April 1968, Biden received a Selective Service classification of 1-Y, meaning he was available for service only in the event of national emergency.

You can be in the Military with asthma if you pass a PFT test. I'm guessing someone who plays college football could pass that.

Not that easy. Yes, someone easily can play college sports and have mild to moderate asthma. For decades we have had very effective drugs for the treatment of asthma. That's the catch. The military doesn't want to bring in a soldier which is going to need specialized treatment from day one. What do they do if that individual is deployed and that drug is not available where the individual is located?

Of course, he was registered, just like slow Joe was registered. A deferment for a physical disability was, in my opinion, more legitimate than a student deferment.
