Carter was always "credible", Barbarap...he's an intelligent man...he's an honest man. He wasn't a good President however because to be quite blunt, it was a job that he wasn't suited for. You have to remember that Carter was elected in the Post Watergate "hangover" when Americans didn't want another Washington insider as their President. They went for a little known peanut farmer from rural Georgia because they were looking for the "anti Nixon". Carter views his work post Presidency as his best because his work AS the President really wasn't adept. I respect his honesty.

Old style, actually I have always liked Carter and believe he has always been under rated as a politician.

My comment was meant as a sarcastic dig at conservatives who, historically, have discredited Carter.

Carter only gets credit b/c obama is so much worse.

I know it will seem strange. I've said this before. But I like and admire President Carter. He just never should have become a President.

As a diplomat the man was amazing. Just amazing. His humanitarian efforts are spot on. Just wasn't Presidential material.
