It seems so long ago, I had almost forgotten.

Unfortunately, it also brought back memories of how much he was loathed. And in some circles still is. Despite the impeccably civil, ethical, contemplative, mature, forward thinking nature of his presidency. We sure could use some of that right now.

I laugh.

As is his want, he spoke about human dignity, mutual respect, the democratic ideals that bind us, and the values we share as Americans. In so doing I was reminded of what this country was and aspired to be. Something from which we are on what I hope is only a brief hiatus, but worry we are not. What a contrast from our current situation.

Hes a class A+ conman. Having worked in prisons and some time in the drug world I know the type.

In the same paragraphs he contradicts himself, and so called educated liberals aren't capable of seeing it.

Hes literally a big reason y you all r tarded now

It was not better.
It absolutely was. Three major reasons. --

1) It helped slow down annual cost increases, since young people were forced to buy insurance.

2) People with pre-existing conditions could no longer be denied coverage....which was a death sentence for millions of Americans.

3) Before Obamacare, people who were unemployed had no access to health insurance. Imagine being fired from a job while you are fighting cancer....what a horrible situation to be in.

He was the first president in US history to sabotage the incoming president. What he did was unforgivable. Super scummy and completely unamerican.

Also treasonous

A white President never would have gotten away with it.

Contemporary reporting and encyclopedic summaries list the center’s construction and campus at about $850 million, making it one of the most expensive presidential centers ever built Earlier planning materials and architect comments projected much smaller figures—architects in 2017 cited construction likely approaching $300 million with an endowment need as high as $1.5 billion—illustrating how scope, amenities and aspirational endowment targets grew during the decade of planning and fundraising . Different outlets emphasize different line items: the $850 million covers the museum, community facilities and campus construction as reported in advance of the center’s June 2026 opening .
...
The Obama Foundation is the principal vehicle for raising the funds and has solicited major gifts from philanthropists, tech and finance leaders and other private donors to cover construction and operations . Several reporting threads underline that the project is “privately funded” in the sense that federal construction dollars were not used to build the museum tower and campus . That said, municipal, state and federal entities did pay for surrounding infrastructure and public improvements tied to the project—Chicago and state programs channeled roughly $123–$175 million in roadway, mobility and park‑adjacent work that facilitated the campus and access .
...
Critics point to arrangements that expose public resources to risk: Fox News reported controversy over a pledged $470 million reserve intended to protect taxpayers that the Obama Foundation had reportedly not fully funded, claiming just a $1 million deposit into the promised reserve as of filings referenced in late 2024 and noting the foundation’s cash position and outstanding construction obligations. ....

Typical of Dumbocrats, and especially Barry Obama;
Way over initial projected co$t$
Using huge gouge of taxpayer funds
Still deeply in debt, contractors not yet fully paid

Classic Dem & Obama boondoggle

Again, the other side sabotaging is been going on for decades, just like trying to make the opposition a one termer, this whole notion of Obama is a victim is nonsense.
One more time. You suggested Obama was all talk no action. I pointed out he wasn't able to enact a lot of his agenda due to Repub obstruction. Got it? Or is the concept too complicated for you?

That mulatto Marxist meathead spoke of a lot of things, and mostly did just the opposite...Exactly like every other commie azzhole has done for over a century.

But he's half black, so you shitlib ass swabs are forced to worship him as the totem that he is.

Taxpayers are footing the costs along with private insurance increases. The ACA is a lie as people are paying for people who have paid little in life. You think all of those medical runs to hospitals in the cities are paid for by the residents. Only the suckers who have employment or are retired with some assets pay. The ghettos are near free. Picked up by the medical squads and delivered to the hospitals like taxi service. They know the game in every social program there is. The costs are massive and every level of government washes its hands of what they created. Only more and more is demanded from the residents.

Then he shouldn’t have said it, tight? It was divisive, even Democrat pundits said it as well, perception is everything.
The speech was divisive only to those who consumed the propaganda behind the ad campaign. When I first saw the tiny clip I was shocked. Sure it only took the complete sentence and a few sentences on either side of those few word they quoted for any reasonable person to realize he was talking about the infrastructure. But politics is not particularly reasonable.

Why else would you think praising the American system that we built, and our businesses thrive in, is divisive?

I have my own opinion's and I am well aware of how the so called liberal media also propagates some popular myths.

Trump and right-wing media say virtually every day that Trump won the 2020 election. An obvious lie.

Nobody in left-wing media says that Harris won the 2024 election.

Therefore, it's really stupid for you to say that the "left-wing propaganda machine" is as bad as the right-wing propaganda machine. Not even close.
alicia you cant comprehend what i am talking about because you are one of them...another die hard who can only see what the other side does......your party as well as the republicans have a media machine that say a lot of shit.....much of it bullshit....take your head out of the lefts collective asses and you might see things you thought never existed because they told you it didnt....

Maybe so. But it was still far better than the old system.

The GOP had no good reason to sabotage Obamacare.
NOPE !
Cost$ for insurance and medical care skyrocketed.
Many we still left out of medical insurance coverage.
I didn't get to keep my doctor, ACA helped encourage him to leave the profession.

Like many a libtard fantasy, totally ignored TANSTAAFL !

Tribalism, the core of the problem and why government is not working well.

Your propaganda is irrelevant.

The simple fact is that Obamacare was far better than the old system, as I already explained. Unfortunately, Republicans did everything they could to weaken Obamacare and now it does suck.

Stealing money from one person to give it to another is never good or right.

He had a Prog Senate and the House his first two years. Harry Reid even got rid of a filibuster. That guy was dirty.

BTW, where is the replacement for the ACA that trump has promised for years?
Didn't need to be sabotaged...It was built to fail as a pretext to have a 100% takeover by the gubmint.

You shitlib clowns still think you're clever, but never have been.

That wasn't the promise...But nobody ever thought the goalposts were going to move themselves.
