It is actually a "good thing" that Trump pardoned Arpaio

racist remarks?

Dog whistles work on dogs........
Dog whistles work on dogs........

you're good at hearing dog whistles...

that dont' exist

for the racist dogs, they do not so much "hear" the whistles, as respond with involuntary barking.

it's a hardwired trigger and habitual craving -- only instead of food or booze, they crave self-pity and rage...

Trump is as bold and as brazen with his bigotry and racism as are his idiotic supporters and most others on the right.

With this reprehensible, unwarranted pardon Trump has sanctioned hatred and animus toward Hispanic immigrants and other minorities, and once again confirmed his contempt for the rule of law – the same contempt Arpaio demonstrated for the rule of law.

Trump and the Republicans have sent a clear message to our Hispanic population that it is acceptable for law enforcement to harass innocent civilians
We have to weed out the illegals. It's not our problem a Mexican legal immigrant looks like a Mexican illegal immigrant.

That's my point, all this drama and theatrics of both side is the problem. Trump is playing and preying on that divisiveness!

True.....but that same divisiveness will mark him as one of the worst presidents in US history.

Pretty much what Nazis stated when they stopped folks for their "papers, please" in the 1930s.

another one that hears non existent whistles.

As opposed to the message do whatever you want, if we accidentally arrest you, we will let you go.

It is not the false arrest the judge objected to but the harassment of innocent civilians because of the color of their skin

Stop ten and maybe find two

As right wing politicians had to struggle to lamely "defend" Trump's racist remarks, not only after Charlottesvile, but also at the campaign rally he held in Phoenix, now they'll have to continue the defense of Trump's pardoning.....

Bear in mind that Trump's saner staff had to write the "pardon", excusing it because Arpaio is 85 years old and had been in law enforcement (sic) for 50 plus years......NOT because the racist Arpaio was correct in defying a court conviction.

So, why is this considered "good"????

Well, it shows WHERE Trump's true racist convictions reside.....and how much he wants to....at the very least.....hold on to his equally racist base of acolytes.

Bottom line: It is always good to expose Trump's racism.....
Good thing Clinton pardoned Mark Rich. And good thing Obama released violent felons because they were black. Do not jump on Trump for exercising a constitutional presidential privilege.

When is the whining going to stop?

Depends on what one considers harassment.
Like I say, I am not super informed on this story, only saw some documentaries and articles about him. No doubt his tactics were extreme, but at the same time this situation there is extreme. Twice the population of illegals than elsewhere in the U.S. So it would stand to reason that there would be twice the number of arrests.

‘Trump […] likes Arpaio because the former sheriff represents in miniature what the President would like to be more maximally—a successful American authoritarian.
[…]
In 2011, an investigation by the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division found that Arpaio’s sheriff’s department engaged in egregious racial profiling in its traffic stops and discrimination in its jailing practices. In Maricopa County, Latino drivers were four to nine times more likely to be stopped than “similarly situated non-Latino drivers,” and about a fifth of traffic stops, most of which involved Latino drivers, violated Fourth Amendment prohibitions against unreasonable seizures. Sheriff’s department officers punished Latino inmates who had difficulty understanding orders in English by locking down their pods, putting them in solitary confinement, and refusing to replace their soiled sheets and clothes. The investigation found that sheriff’s department officers addressed Latino inmates as “wetbacks,” “Mexican bitches,” “fucking Mexicans,” and “stupid Mexicans.”
[…]
Like Trump, Arpaio regards reporters, activists, and critics of his policies as personal enemies as well as enemies of the people. The Justice Department investigation found that his department had “engaged in a pattern or practice of retaliating against individuals for exercising their First Amendment right to free speech.” It had “arrested individuals without cause, filed meritless complaints against the political adversaries of Sheriff Arpaio, and initiated unfounded civil lawsuits and investigations against individuals critical of MCSO policies and practices.”’

Why Donald Trump Pardoned Joe Arpaio

Violations of individual’s First and Fourth Amendment rights, bigotry, hatred, and discrimination where the hallmarks of Arpaio’s ruthless regime, an authoritarian thug who Trump admires.

Trump should go for broke and pardon the guy who ran people over and killed the girl. WTH, why wait.

Doing so would make his KKK base even happier.

With a pardon, Arpaio's conviction still stands. That is an advantage to those who initiate civil suits against Arpaio.

A presidential pardon erases guilt and punishment, it does not change facts. Exampled by a lawyer who was disbarred with a criminal conviction, didn't get his license back because of a pardon, his guilt was erased, but his license was revoked because of his behavior, and not just his conviction.
Same for a security clearance.
