He said that both sides were partly responsible for the violence at Charlottesville, which is...you know...a FACT. Further, he observed that NOT EVERYONE DEMONSTRATING was a [KKK member], some of them were merely voicing their legitimate disagreement with the removal of the monument in question.

Bear in mind that Trump's saner staff had to write the "pardon", excusing it because Arpaio is 85 years old and had been in law enforcement (sic) for 50 plus years......NOT because the racist Arpaio was correct in defying a court conviction.

So, why is this considered "good"????

With a pardon, Arpaio's conviction still stands. That is an advantage to those who initiate civil suits against Arpaio.

A presidential pardon erases guilt and punishment, it does not change facts. Exampled by a lawyer who was disbarred with a criminal conviction, didn't get his license back because of a pardon, his guilt was erased, but his license was revoked because of his behavior, and not just his conviction.
Same for a security clearance.
