Marriages should just be contracts, and enforced like any other contract. The specifics of the contract should be up to those who sign it.

"Recording" a marriage is a far cry from licensing it.

Legally speaking, the word "license" is equal to "permission"....Why do you need from The State, that which should be your inherent right?

I am far left and anti-Trump, but I don't really find Trump that bad because he was anti-war, and mostly concerned with improving the economy.
The "burn it all down and start over" works for me because this country is constantly committing such horrendous crimes, such as no public health care, the illegal War on Drugs, lying about WMD in Iraq, spending about 75% of our taxes on the military, etc.

But I agree there is a risk if things really did drastically change, that a Stalin like figure could be the result.

I think recording could involve a small fee.
But I agree gov should not be able to deny marriage because they don't have that authority or expertise.

I am a socialist or communist, and I have a huge problem with the Brandon government.
I want our troops out of Syria, we should have slowly integrated the Taliban with the Kabul government, Biden's 1994 Federal Crime Bill should have been prosecuted for treason, and anyone involved with Burisma Holdings or the Ukraine in general, should be prosecuted.

When you ally with something bad over something you claim is worse, you become tainted.
Allying with Stalin to defeat Hitler was likely not a good idea, for example.

What we need to do is simply point out that things like the War on Drugs, asset forfeiture, sentence mandates, federal gun control, no-knock-warrants, etc. are absolutely and totally illegal, and anyone associated with them need to immediately be prosecuted.
That includes the millions of police who claim they were "just doing their job".
They know its illegal, and if they do it anyway, they are still criminals.

I do not particularly like Trump, but he is the closest to a third party there is.
We need to end the partisan primary, go with open elections, and get rid of all the partisan polarization.

I would prefer a candidate like Bernie, Warren, or Gabbard, but I will take someone like Trump over people like Hillary or Biden, who deliberately harmed millions of people.
