They took two of his words and added conclusions of their own. What exactly does "Death to Israel" mean to you? What does "wipe the Zionist entity of the face of the earth mean to you"? There are millions of Farsi speakers inside and outside Iran who know EXACTLY what Iran's leader has had mind for Israel.

01/18/07 "Information Clearing House" -- -- Across the world, a dangerous rumor has spread that could have catastrophic implications. According to legend, Iran's President has threatened to destroy Israel, or, to quote the misquote, "Israel must be wiped off the map". Contrary to popular belief, this statement was never made, as this article will prove.

BACKGROUND:

On Tuesday, October 25th, 2005 at the Ministry of Interior conference hall in Tehran, newly elected Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad delivered a speech at a program, reportedly attended by thousands, titled "The World Without Zionism". Large posters surrounding him displayed this title prominently in English, obviously for the benefit of the international press. Below the poster's title was a slick graphic depicting an hour glass containing planet Earth at its top. Two small round orbs representing the United States and Israel are shown falling through the hour glass' narrow neck and crashing to the bottom.

You are so funny, name calling is doing absolutely nothing, zip, to detract from Iran's peacefulness, when compared to the US and Israel. (I do want to point out the issue I am addressing is relations with other nations, not how these socities deal with their own people and human rights abuses within each nation.)

There is a difference between a nation like Iran that has not started a war in hundreds of years with other nations and a country like the US which just in the past decade started a war in Iraq that caused over 1 million to die, and there is a difference between Iran and Israel, who is constantly launching attacks that massacre civilians in lands she occupies unlawfully in the OPT.

Iran may provide financial backing and weapons to Hezbollah, but so what? The US provides the same to Israel, and Israel uses US money and weapons to launch terror attacks that have killed over 8000 civilians since the onset of the First Intifada, most of whom were civilians, over one thousand of whom were children.

Your Hypocrisy makes me feel like throwing up.
