Just out of curiosity, what makes you vote or not vote?
I voted because I believed it was a civic responsibility. Now I wonder if my vote matters one little bit. Same shit different pitch once they get in. I am much more comfortable voting on local issues and candidates. The effects of the issues are more easily seen. The candidates I know personally. State wide and National elections are different. Not sure I will continue to be involved in them

Those who the system has abused most likely just stop voting as a percentage of part of the many who do not vote. Civic responsibility does not mean that you are into 100% of everything the system does or try to force you to do from legal age to death. That is a long time.

You raise a good point. There is a difference between local elections and national ones.

They are two different animals altogether.

You can look at it two different ways.

One way is to think that you are doing your civic responsibility by voting.

The other, however, is choosing not to vote if you think that they system you are voting for in either party, is bad for the country. In effect, your nonvote because a vote of protest in such a scenerio.

The lower the voting participation numbers, the worse the said democracy looks. Imagine an election, for example, where only 10% of the population votes. Does such a regime really have any legitimacy?

this will likely piss people off, but...you did ask.

voting.webp

I vote because I support someone and their policies. I do not vote against someone. All that means is you are voting for someone you dont support. Which is stupid.
Im absolutist about voting. Either you cherish liberty, or you dont. You cant say you cherish liberty because you want people to be able to buy an AR, and then in the next breath support red flags laws, mass surveillance, or any other bozo bullshit that impedes our rights and liberties.

I have issues with both parties but more with the Democrats particularly over the last 40 plus years and its getting even more pronounced over the last 10 or 12 years. I mostly vote based on the lesser of two objectionable candidates.

Just out of curiosity...did you think that every election was rigged before 2016/2020? We had the same rules in place from like 1900 to 2016. Nobody seemed to have a problem and absolutely nobody has gone to the comical extent that your lord and master Trump has gone to trying to convince us of massive voter fraud that just simply doesn’t exist.

All you retards STILL think Bush "stole" the 2000 election.

You haven't accepted the results of an election you didn't win in more than 30 years.

Very few people thought that at the time, even fewer now. When was the last time it was brought up?

What was legitimate was that the ballots in WPB county confused voters and Pat Buchanan got a lot of votes that were intended for Gore...this is according to Pat Buchanan.

"All right, well, Matt, we've got to take a look at those--those ballots. If the two candidates they pushed were Buchanan and Gore, almost certainly those are Al Gore's votes and not mine. I cannot believe someone would vote for Gore and say, `I made a mistake, I should have voted for Buchanan.' Maybe a small minority of them would have done that. But I--I've got to think that the vast majority of those would naturally belong to Al Gore and not to me, because we didn't run any ads, as I recall, television or radio spots, in Palm Beach County."

Doesn’t make a difference...but it did happen.

Pure bull sh!t. Really pal, give it up.
