Iran would have to have nuclear weapons to make the threat and use them.
Preventing that situation occurring would be a logical course of action.

A high-ranking Iranian general has recently made alarming threats regarding Israel. Hossein Salami, the general in question, stated that Iran aims to “wipe Israel off the map.” This declaration was made during a televised address, where he also highlighted Iran’s military capabilities.
Another wants that on his gravestone. They pay Hamas to kill Jews. I'm pretty sure they have made their campaign to wipe out the Jews common knowledge. They have also threatened us. Kind of hard to miss their agenda...
