We could not have the Social Transformation of our nation without having others produce products for us at cheaper prices. Separating us with two huge oceans has bought us time. We were a younger country forged with clay from the beginning of a few centuries ago. Those other areas of the world live with the ways they were for a lot longer and their boundaries are a lot closer to each other. China is the adult to our petulance. We became a nation of huge government and people getting paid off. An example of our childness is Smollett. What he has cost the taxpayers a thousand Chinese can live well with. And we have a lot of Smolletts in all ways and backgrounds.
That is an odd choice of words, considering they use slave labor.

The leader of the Free World (Joe Biden??) is about to have a video call with Vlad Putin.
I don't see where any other NATO spokesman is responding to Putin's threats?!

Putin has about 175,000 troops and thousands of tanks on Ukraine's border.

Vlad wants assurances that NATO would NEVER admit Ukraine into NATO

China is also making military threats against Taiwan with dozens of military overflights. Would Vlad and Xi coordinate their moves to assure no military opposition? After all, who wants to fight a two-front war?

So lets take a poll what Biden and NATO would do if Russia and China made their move now while Biden has three more years in office...

Other:

Russia will be cut off from the world banking system, the pipe line construction halted, and all trade with the EU will cease. Same sanctions that destroyed the economy of Iran. Putin is losing support at home and was essentially pulling this stunt in the Ukraine to distract from the economic woes facing most Russians. If more economic hardship is forced on the Russian people, opposition to Putin's leadership will continue to grow.

Russia is already at war with the west. Putin is using hackers and cyber attacks on hospitals and small governments in the west to fight his war. And propaganda.

China is another issue. Unlike Putin, who is weak at home and losing ground fast, Xi is moving from strength to strength. As long as first world countries continue to off shore all of the low skill manufacturing to Asia, China will continue to have the resources from their trade surpluses to build friends, infrastructure for their trade routes, and alliances the world over - just like the USA did in the 60's and 70's when the USA was running huge trade surpluses.

Trump completely undermined the USA's "human rights" arguments with his fascist, white supremacist rhetoric and failure to address the black communities well founded concerns about policing in the USA. Not to mention gerrymandering, voter suppression, and attempt to keep minorities from the polls. You people don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to "human rights".

Xi survives and thrives because he's smarter than the average despot. Like the Romans of old, Xi recognizes that so long as he attends to his people's basic needs, he can pretty much do as he pleases. The Chinese people are thriving under his rule. They have no need to oppose him, and few means to do it by.

Americans have yet to learn to take care of their people first. They take care of their oligarchs first. That's the same formula that is bringing Putin down. And they're blocking Democratic attempts to change the economy to take care of the people first and foremost.

A thriving and healthy middle class was the key to US economic dominance post WWII. The Republican economic policies have destroyed that middle class, and impoverished the working class, turning back the economic distribution of the wealth of the nation, to the Guilded Age of the Robber Barons.

What's shocking to the rest of the world is how thoroughly Republican voters have been brainwashed to believe that Democrats who caused this to happen, when it's been the Democrats who have saved their asses every time Republicans crash the economy.

That was fifty years ago. No president since then has treated Taiwan as anything except an independent country. The Taiwan Relations Act treats Taiwan as a sovereign country and we have trade agreements and have treated Taiwan as a sovereign country in every way. Nixon and Carter were the only presidents that favored the PRC over Taiwan. Nixon's reason was to drive a wedge between the USSR and PRC. Carter was just being a idealistic fool as usual.
Still US policy.

We do know that Milley would give China a heads up if we were going to attack them. That is a fact straight from the horse's ass's mouth. How he was not immediately fired is bizarre. Imagine if someone in Trump's world admitted anything like that while he was president.
Milley was right in the middle of Trump's world.

Biden said the other day that we would defend Taiwan's sovereignty. Did you sleep through that like he does through meetings?
Whatever Biden said, it is still US policy to recognize Taiwan as being a part of China. I believe there is tacit agreement that Taiwan will rejoin China peacefully. Eventually. See, both sides save face.

Is WW3 about to start?

It started in the 1970s, when Jimmy Carter betrayed and abandoned the very best ally that we ever had in the Muslim-dominated part of the world, the Shah of Iran.

As a result of Carter's malfeasance, the Shah was overthrown, and that nation taken over by the Khomeniacs, who quickly established Iran as the base from which the disease of violent Islamist terrorism could fester and spread to the rest of the world. We've been at war with them ever since. All the trouble we've had with violent Islamist terrorists, all traces to this one failure on Carter's part.

Pity. I was agreeing with your post until your TDS kicked-in.
1. What was Trump's "fascist, white-supremacist rhetoric"? (hint: there was none)
2. The states run elections, duh. You must be from Canada, huh?
3. The GOP can stand with anyone on "human rights".

The democrats get more "dark money" than Republicans. Trump's policies are "populist", if you know what that means. (hint: many democrats like them).

Your whining and lies won't help the democrats in the 2022 or 2024 elections....

I wouldn't say WW3 started then, but many of the seeds for WW3 may have been sown from the overthrow of the Shah.
Who knows how long he would have lasted anyway.
