Zone1 Is This of God, or the Devil?

Also, I'm sure you will roll your eyes at this (which again is sad) but the original purpose of animals was for companionship. They weren't created to be menu items
I'm not holding up the Vikings as anything other than what they were (a mixture of good and evil), but one use they had for their grazing animals was they shared space in their insulated long houses. They created HEAT during the long winters.

I'm not saying they didn't eat them, but they served a basic survival need during their long cold winters

Since not everyone can see Facebook stuff....here's a similar recent Gary Yourofsky video, it's part of an interview with Gianna Simone.

I agree with him, what goes on in the animal industries is diabolical. And it's completely unnecessary.

I must admit that was horrible to watch and not the humane way to slaughter pigs either. I've never seen that before as I have always heard about the stun gun and pistol.

What about the devil? If this is of "God", what is the devil? Connect the dots

Again this is inhumane as well. It should be one chop off the head. This is only making the animals suffer.

You're making progress. But what is the "humane way" to kill an innocent living being God created?

Whether you choose to believe it or not just because I eat meat I'm not a monster and for making animals suffer like that. Quick and painless is the humane way to go. Both of these practices should be illegal.

PETA Castration

For most of human history, it took a lot of courage to hunt wild animals. Nature has a way of reinforcing itself. That's why eating meat creates courage.

The Hindu caste tyranny needed to religiously brainwash gutless subjects in order to survive in its unearned hereditary power. That's why they made Vegetarianism mandatory (except for their military caste, QED).

Well, thanks for at least admitting that. But here's the thing. The word humane means: characterized by tenderness, compassion, and sympathy for people or animals. There is nothing compassionate about killing someone who desperately doesn't want to be killed. Namely when it completely unnecessary.

Also, a lot of people assume that in the animal industries, the animals are treated as "humanely" as possible. But that couldn't be further from the truth. These industries view animals as mere commodities, not living beings that are no different than a beloved dog or cat. And to these industries, time is money. So because everything in fast moving in slaughterhouses, they don't have the time or care to do everything in a less brutal way.

For example, with the electrical stunning of pigs, research has shown that up to 31% of the time the stunning fails and the pig is fully conscious at the time of slaughter, when they are hung upside down, their throat is slit and they bleed to death.

As I've said a bajillion times, pigs are highly intelligent and social animals, just like dogs. They are ranked even smarter than dogs.

Imagine this. How would you feel about your dog being in a scenario that causes so much fear and horror that your dog is literally shaking? And then your dog experiencing pain and suffering as he dies a brutal death... when it is completely unnecessary? If you oppose that (which I'm sure you would) why would you support that same scenario for a pig? Again pigs are no different than dogs or cats in all the ways that matter. As the Leo Tolstoy quote below says....it's nothing but societal conditioning that causes people to love dogs and cats and be completely apathetic toward pigs, cows, etc.

Hey, I just admitted that I don't like animals to suffer. Don't push it as that doesn't mean that I'm going to give up eating meat. Besides, where are you getting your 31% of failure for when it comes to the stun gun?

no one will ever convince me that bacon isn't a gift from god.

Well I hate to be the party pooper here, but the only "god" behind the literal horror show that goes on in a slaughterhouse, where you can hear their terrified screams from even outside the building is the lowercase "god of this world", aka satan. If that's the "god" you want to follow, then you do you. :dunno:

The real God said that eating pigs is forbidden and even called it an abomination. (And no, contrary to what most mainstream Christians believe, Jesus did not reverse God's words. We do have free will, but God does not change which means His perfect will and true intent from the start never changed.)

Hypothetically let's say that you're right for the moment being,... But if pigs aren't for eating what are they for? Cats are for catching mice, dogs can protect you and catch criminals, and lead the blind and such. What are pigs meant for other than looking cute if not for eating?

Hahahaha

I love this bar. What nonsense.

Um, we're in Religion section, dude. Did you not notice that? That's the topic of this thread, and why it was posted here instead of in General Discussion or some other forum. I know you're a hardcore atheist who thinks religion and faith is nonsense, which is why it's strange to me that you always seem to be in this section.

As I keep saying, pigs are just like dogs. They're basically pink dogs. If you didn't, look at the videos I posted.

Animals were NOT put here just for us. And they certainly weren't put here to be mere resources for us to exploit in a selfish way.

Colossians 1:16 says that all things were created by and FOR God. Just like God created us and loves us, He created the animals and loves the animals.

In addition to that, in Genesis 2, it says that God created the animals to be our companions... and of course people DO still think of some animals as our companions. The problem is, they've created arbitrary categories which cause people to exclude some animals from their circle of compassion.

We can know that the purpose of animals was not to be mere menu items by looking at God's original and ultimate design. In the Garden of Eden there was no flesh eating (Genesis 1:29-30) and in the future, in the world to come, God is going to restore that initial world of peace of harmony which has always been His intent for all creation. (Isaiah 11:6-9)

(I feel like I've been through all this soooo many times. lol. But hey, the topic keeps coming up and people still bring up the same objections.) :)

Fair enough but I only feel that way about cats and dogs and such. Cows, pigs, and chickens I wouldn't want for a pet just to fill my stomach. Well actually,... I probably would go for a pig than the other two but I wouldn't count on it. I will tell you this much though, if it wasn't for the fact that I know for a fact that there is a much more humane way of slaughtering pigs than that gas chamber, you might have possibly gotten me to stop eating them.

There is no such thing as "humane slaughter." It's an oxymoron. It's like saying "kind rape." Again, taking someone's life against their will by definition is NOT humane. Since humane basically means compassionate.

This quote sums it up, imo.

Btw... apart from the clip I posted of pigs in gas chambers... have you ever seen graphic footage of animal slaughter?

Admittedly, no but if they do it right like I was talking about then the animal would feel no pain. It would be as quick as it is to put your cat or dog to sleep so I don't really see the difference there or like with mouse traps. The chicken thing in the OP is messed up too. Just one chop off the head should be all it takes to end it before the animal suffers.
