It seems to me to have all the defining characteristics:
In Keynes, they have an infallible prophet who brings an unquestionable revelation of truth
In his General Theory, they have their holy text
In the State, they have their Church, entrusted to do Keynes' will and ensure the economy never falters
And, like religion, they are immune to any facts or evidence in opposition to their beliefs
