“No income tax on overtime”…..Does such a policy excite Freedom Fighting Libertarians and the like? Are the Parties still “the same”?

Regardless of whether these proposals from both Trump and Harris are pandering, notice the stark difference in the approaches, save Harris stealing Trump’s idea about not taxing tips. Trump wants to allow people to keep more of the money they earn by cutting their taxes. Harris just wants to give people money that she takes from other people. Two totally different approaches. One incentivizes work, the other redistributes wealth and fosters dependency.

Because voters love free shit.

I wouldn’t say allowing a person to keep more of what they earn is the same as just giving out stuff for free at the expense of others, which is the Democrat’s MO.

No. I don't see that as a 'stark difference'. It's an excuse.

The question is - which one is going to take care of me car problem. I need a new car.

I know. "It's different when we do it!!!"

We hear it over and over from Fence Sitters…..”The Parties are one and the same”
Does this policy create any separation for you small less invasive government types?
Trying to bribe the libertarians to accept fascism?!

#PANIC

I would imagine that a right-wing conservative would welcome a tax cut for workers, be it overtime or not. They don't like the overtime, since their mentality is:

"Oh geee, one day I will become a multimillionaire and when I'm rich like my wealthy master, I don't want to pay overtime, hence even though I'm a working-class person relying on wages to eat and have a roof over my head, I don't want my good master to have to pay overtime. Actually, I don't even want my capitalist master to have to pay me a minimum wage, he can pay me $1.80 hourly or nothing and I'll just rely on tips. The paying consumer will be responsible for my wages, isn't that nice? My wealthy, multimillionaire or billionaire master, doesn't have to pay for his labor force, the paying consumer will pay for it...WOW, that is genius, daaahmmm...."

There is a huge difference between taking less of what someone earns vs taking from those that earn and giving it to those that don’t. The child tax credit is a great example. Those that pay taxes get a tax credit, not a deduction. The credit or proposed credit will be 6k per child under 1. If a person pays 20k/yr in taxes, they would only pay 14k. For a person that pays $0 federal income tax, one would think they would get nothing, but no, they get a check for $6k for every child under 1 and additional for other minors. One is welfare and the other is taking less from what someone earns.

Useless promise. Picks up the peanuts while workers are being trampled by the tariffs.

All of Trump's policies for workers do little for the workers, and a lot for their bosses.

I can’t help you if you can’t see the difference in taking less of what someone earns vs giving people that don’t earn a freebee.

And I can help you if you're intent on being an easy mark. Pandering to special interest groups is pandering to special interest groups.

I agree, but I am pointing out the difference in the approaches. Cutting taxes is not the same as giving away free money.

Well, if Trump wants my vote, I need a new car. Trump can either cut my taxes, or cut me a check. It all balances out the same.

Less revenue should mean less spending…right?
Maybe if we stopped taxing overtime we’d stop spending money on illegal Mexicans….huh?
Sadly, ‘no debt’ doesn’t sell in this new America to these new Americans manufactured by the likes of dblack and Harpy Eagle
Debt has no impact on these new Americans…We’re screwed, ‘no debt’ is never coming back as a valued part of any platform.
The government spends what they want no matter how low revenue, that is why we are 35 trillion in debt. And it will never change, government is not held accountable.

It’s sad that you can’t make the simple distinction.
Cutting taxes for Americans and covering medical expenses for Mexico’s people are not synonymous and third graders know it.
