Iran vows retaliation for strikes in Syria and Iraq.......

Guess you missed the part that it was their money that had been frozen because of the sanctions. When the nuclear deal was done, the sanctions were lifted, and their money was unfrozen, which meant we had to release it and give it back.
Because, yeah, unfreezing national reserves always includes pallets of cash stacked six feet high in nonsequential, multinational currency.

There is nothing trump can do to distract from impeachment proceedings because the media are a megaphone for the democrats.
Why would Trump want to distract from the impeachment?

He is gaining in the polls as the whole world can see what shallow, stupid, nitwit partisans the Democrats are being. Even the socialist President of Mexico was begging the Democrats to get off the impeachment bullshit and pass the USMCA agreement.

This impeachment has been a windfall for Trump and all his protests to the contrary are just more B'rer Rabbit 'Dont throw me in the briar patch' goading of Pelosi and her idiot leutenants who couldnt think their way out of a wet paper sack.

Once again, Trump has tricked Democrats into doing his work for him, along with their media auxillary which is losing credibility by the day, a Republican twofer.

I am simply amazed that no one other than Michael Moore has caught on.

Michael Moore Predicts 2020 Trump Victory: Trump's Level Of Support "Has Not Gone Down One Inch"

The problem is, is that he will — if the vote were today, I believe, he would win the electoral states that he would need, because, living out there, I will tell you, his level of support has not gone down one inch. In fact, I’d say it’s even more rabid than it was before, because they’re afraid now. They’re afraid he could lose, because they watched his behavior. So they are voracious in their appetite for Donald Trump. That’s the bad news.

Well, yesterday the US attacked Iranian backed militia in Syria and Iraq in retaliation for a rocket attack that killed 1 contractor and injured 4 US military personnel.

Today? Iran is saying that they will retaliate for the strike that happened yesterday.

I wonder if Trump will use this to start a war so that he can distract people from his impeachment proceedings?

Iran-backed Iraqi militia vows revenge to US strikes - - Suddenlink

BAGHDAD (AP) — An Iranian-backed Iraqi militia vowed Monday to retaliate for U.S. military strikes in Iraq and Syria that killed 25 of its fighters and wounded dozens, raising concerns of new attacks that could threaten American interests in the region.

The U.S. attack — the largest targeting an Iraqi state-sanctioned militia in recent years — and the calls for retaliation, represent a new escalation in the proxy war between the U.S. and Iran playing out in the Middle East.

The Iraqi government said it will reconsider its relationship with the U.S.-led coalition — the first time it has said it will do so since an agreement was struck to keep some U.S. troops in the country. It called the attack a “flagrant violation" of its sovereignty.

The U.S. military carried out the strikes Sunday against the Iranian-backed Kataeb Hezbollah militia, calling it retaliation for last week's killing of an American contractor in a rocket attack on an Iraqi military base that it blamed on the group.
Well, you can rest assured...

Any retaliation by Iran was financed by the Kenyan Faggot!!!

Really?

Never wondered how many American soldier's deaths in Iraq and Syria, were paid for by the money Obama gave the Iranians?

You should think about for a long time.

Again, Obama didn't "give" them any money. It was their money that had been frozen because of the sanctions. When we (and several other countries) signed the Iranian nuclear deal, part of the deal was that we would unfreeze their accounts and let them have their money back.

Well guess how many American soldiers they killed with "their money" that Obama gave back to them.
Had they been home where they belonged, working in the productive portion of the economy, enjoying life with their families, none would be dead due to misguided US imperial policy.

Laughing at your own ignorance, as dummies usually do.

Turns out that cutting Iran off the international banking system (under U.S. sanctions) poses some considerable difficulties while transferring significant sums to Iran. So, the electronic way prohibited, cash was the only option. It also turned out that sums of that magnitude in cash aren't really easy to gather and transfer. Also, you keep sums in cash of that magnitude lying around anywhere secret, for quite obvious reasons, and take extra precautions no one is blurting out anything about it.

Of course, Rightardia construed an earth-spanning conspiracy around all that, and those who never get their head out of the rightarded blabbosphere will never understand that all that happened was, Iran, after decades, got their money back, with some of the interest accrued.

What a laughable goof you are.

Crowd storms US Embassy compound in Baghdad, gunshots heard, report says
They just did. Now time to hit them back.

because 'war presidents' gain LOTS of support starting them, not so much when they prolong them.....~S~
I dont think that the part of the population that likes rattling their sabers is a major part of the Trump support base.

Maybe not, but the maximum pressure campaign against Iran is popular among Republicans and it would be very hard to maintain support for maximum pressure if the US cuts and runs when Iran makes faces at us. Attacks on US personnel have to be responded to and as crazy as it sounds, whichever side blinks first loses. To hold Iran responsible for these attacks, Iranian government targets must be hit the next time.

SPINNING THE ATTACK ON OUR IRAQ EMBASSY, FAKE NEWS WASHINGTON POST STYLE

This front page Washington Post story about the siege by pro-Iran militias of the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, now ended, is an attempt to score points against President Trump. The subtitle of the story (paper edition) is “Trump warns Iran but shows little appetite for deeper involvement.”

Trump responded to the siege by deploying troops to the region.

The Post’s coverage of the attack on the embassy in Baghdad is biased and misleading in another respect, as well. The paper’s other lead story on the subject treats the siege of the embassy as evidence that Iran is “ascendant” in Iraq. Yet, neither this story nor the one discussed above mentions the fact that Iranian diplomatic outposts in Iraq have been attacked, and indeed torched, by locals.

If the attack on the U.S. compound by pro-Iranian forces is evidence that Iran is “ascendant,” then the attack by anti-Iranian forces on Iranian facilities is evidence to the contrary. Yet, the Post, hides this evidence from its readers.

If we didn’t know better, we might think that the Post is rooting for Iran in its showdown with the U.S. and its leader, President Trump.

SQUAD GOALS: Ilhan Omar Attacks Trump For Killing Top Iranian Terrorist, Promotes Conspiracy Theory.

Ilhan-Omar.jpg

Iranian Major-General Qassem Soleimani, head of the Quds Force, and Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were the two terrorist leaders who were killed. Al-Muhandis was in charge of the Iranian-linked Popular Mobilization Forces.

The Department of Defense released a statement stating that Trump ordered the strike because “General Soleimani was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region.”

“General Soleimani and his Quds Force were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American and coalition service members and the wounding of thousands more,” the Pentagon continued. “He had orchestrated attacks on coalition bases in Iraq over the last several months – including the attack on December 27th – culminating in the death and wounding of additional American and Iraqi personnel. General Soleimani also approved the attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad that took place this week.”

Despite the statement from the Pentagon and the clear reasoning behind the attack, Omar responded by suggesting that Trump secretly carried out the strike to provide a “distraction” from the upcoming Senate impeachment trial.

So, nice job, you are promoting one of Ilhan's crazy pro-Islamist conspiracy theories.

This is hilarious. President Trump refused to take us to war in Syria, and shorty after got impeached. Now you are still trying to claim he is a warmonger.

Gawd you people are idiots.

The impeachment has zero to do with Syria, so please don't conflate the two.

And, I never said that Trump was a warmonger either. I simply showed where Iran backed militias were attacked yesterday, and that today, Iran is vowing to retaliate.

I then asked if Trump might get us into a war to distract from his impeachment. In the past, some presidents have used military action as a way to distract the people, and I was asking if people thought that Trump might use those tactics as well.
That commander committed an Act of War with the United States and now he's dead. Trump killed him to PREVENT a war with Iran.

A GOOD RESPONSE ON THE “PROVOKING IRAN” TALK:

Iran has been at war with us for 40 years. The “provocation” may cause them to advance their operational timetable, but that’s more likely to advantage us than them.

Clinton certainly went to war in Serbia to distract everyone from Monica Lewinsky --- it was obvious to me at the time. The difference here is that we chose that war; no one was attacking us, we had no troops in the area, and Europeans were generally against it. But we went to war from a standing start and won in 10 1/2 weeks. Of course, Clinton wasn't doing a PC war: he bombed Belgrade until they gave up, and surrendered Milosevic.

I don't think this is the same. If someone hasn't noticed Iran has been trying to take over the Mideast and run out Europeans/Americans, they just haven't read the news all last year. Iran has become very aggressive, especially about shipping. When Obama brought the troops home, ISIS took over and used Iraq as a war base. If Trump does that, ISIS and Iran will use Iraq as a war base, sending out terrorists, attacking Israel, killing the Kurds, etc. Remember that we didn't start this, as Clinton did. The enemy attacked the Green Zone in considerable force, an armed mob! We had to evacuate the whole huge Embassy on an emergency basis. Of course Trump had to reply to that! Not to reply beckons escalation because of our weakness from Iran and Iranian-backed forces.

I think this situation is likely to be good for Trump's re-election (just as the failed Iraq war was still good for Bush's re-election, though I didn't vote for him, the idiot) because Americans won't change horses in the middle of a stream.

Why would the President want to distract from the impeachment circus when Republicans are preparing to use the impeachment farce against Democrats in the election?
