Trump and Pete Hegseth and Marco Rubio and whomever else were lured into this war by Benjamin Netanyahu, pushed into it by the billionaire donors of the Israel lobby and, more than anything else, seduced into it by massive institutional incompetence and their thoroughly unfounded belief in their own awesomeness. As one Bluesky poster put it in early March, those guys believed they could wage and win a war easily just by being “based chads” (i.e., white dudes with retrograde attitudes about literally everything) who would avoid all the weak, woke, DEI-informed mistakes made in previous conflicts by such lily-livered libtards as, um, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld.

The recent series of battles in Iran's long running war against the U.S. was won by the U.S. the moment they started. That's when the senior leaders of Iran either briefly understood that the U.S. would no longer allow it to choose the time and manner of every battle, or simply died without ever knowing what hit them and why.

Regardless of that, the new leaders of Iran now know one thing about what the U.S. will do to respond to their long running campaign of terror against free nations: that they do not and cannot know anything.

If Trump ends all kinetic action right now, the Mullahs of Iran are weaker than they have been since the Shah fled decades ago. That is a win for our side. If Trump continues to bomb their infrastructure, then the now weaker mullahs will face a population not only tired of no freedom, but of living in the ruins.

If Trump gets true concessions, such as verifiable dismantling of their nuclear program, and/or verifiable free elections, that would be a great victory, of course. But we have the victory now, and it cannot be undone.

How sad that any American is sad about that.

If Trump just declare victory and f#ck off, then Iran simply continue to hit US bases and US allies in the region, both directly, by missiles, and indirectly, via proxies, continue to toll Hormuz strait, and, rather sooner than later, formally withdrawn NPT and buy nukes from Russia, Pakistan or North Korea or made them by themselves.

Do not forget to applaud the Cheeky Chappies .
Splendid performance at very long odds .

Just shows how Brains always defeat brawn , and underlines the unreliability of the God those Jewish people seem to foolishly believe tells them the Truth .

No wonder all their top guys are Bankers !!
Goddy Boy loves rhyming slang .

Possibly, but they were doing all that, or had the potaential to do all that before Trump "started a war."

If Trump were to declare victory now, with a warning to Iran that any move against the U.S. or Israel would mean the U.S. starts attacking again and this time will not let up until they are as defeated as Germany was in 1945, they are at least as likely to stop and lick their wounds as they would be to do what you listed.

Anyway, I'm not advocating that Trump declare victory and **** off. I'm just saying that if he did it would still be a win, not just for "our side," but for the world.* Therefore any talk about "America losing the war," is just wishful thinking by the usual haters.

*The only claim of Iranian victory you could make would be Iran's control of the Strait of Hormuz. But I see an upside to that as well. Middle-eastern oil has been our crack for too long as it is. Long past time we stopped being dependent on it. Our NATO protectorates will feel that reduced supply much more than we, so maybe they will finally contribute their share by protecting shipping in the Persian Gulf.

All sorts of opinions online. Time may tell. And even time itself may not be right. Surface opinion is not reliable.

Remember Iraq? We hit them, then years later we returned and took them down. Same with Syria. It took many years. The USA never gives up.

Are you really Russian? If so, can you comment on why the Russian people have not tried to overthrow Putin?

Are you really Russian?
It depends on definitions. My Mom was Russian-speaking Ukrainian and considered Ukrainians as a part of Russian ethnicity. My Dad was a Russian-speaking Jew, and considered that Russian Jews, are, first of all, Russian and only then - Jews, and that culture is more important than blood. I can't be a Ukrainian nationalist, because of my Jewish father, I can't be Jewish nationalist because of my Ukrainian mother, and I consider myself as ethnic Russian. Same way 99% of Russians see me as Russian and only 1% of purists see me as "half-Jew".

If so, can you comment on why the Russian people have not tried to overthrow Putin?
For what practical reason? Ordinary people see him and his team as doing good job. High rank guys prefer to change decision-makers rather than talking heads.

Trump has humiliated the United States around the world.
Iran is the humiliated one at this point. they are like the knight in one of the Monty Python movies who keeps getting part of his body cut off from other knights while spouting he has won. Soon enough if this keeps up their electric generating capacity will be affected for the people and fresh water also. The real nitty gritty has not started yet.

As if Iran (and his backups) can't fight back.

Trump convinced himself he'd won a war in Venezuela and that he could do it again, just like that.

And he can't. And he didn't.
