Iran Gets Major Economic Lifeline for Minimal Concessions in Initial Deal

Oh, like they agreed to do under the JCPOA...in 2015?
But now they get $300B and control of the Strait?
So we wasted lives, bases destroyed, hundreds of billions, probably a trillion dollars when it was all said and done, plus control of the Strait, plus relaxing of sanctions? Plus unfreezing billions in funds...for what?
You think they didn't win?
Yes, it was all said and done. True. But now we get the Uranium and Iran stops supporting Hezbollah and Hamas. Plus we can´t do something about Iran closing the Strait, anyway. This is a major step towards lasting peace in the region in the end.

There's nothing in the agreement about Hezbollah and Hamas.

There's no guarantee that Iran will hand over its uranium, either.

The only thing Trump got was a promise to reopen the strait.

Which wasn't closed before he started this thing.

So now Iran has opened the strait, can start charging tolls in 60 days, and can get its oil freely back on the market.

Iran won.

Only in Trumplandia is starting a war, declaring victory then conceding and surrendering to the enemy a strategy to be proud of.

The MOU is what you get when you get a bunch of arrogant New York real estate developers to negotiate an end to a war with Iranians. These idiots gave away the store. Hell, under this agreement, Iran can start charging “fees” for use of the Strait and is entitled to 300 billion in reparations , not to mention Trump supercharged Iran’s oil revenue to the tune of 60 billion dollars a year!

Trump (and Trumpers) making Iran great again.

The U.S. has been humbled on our 250th Anniversary

Trump got nothing that he demanded and gave Iran everything

The 13 newest Gold Star families should be highly pissed. Their loved soldiers perished for absolutely no compelling reason.

In the final analysis, Tehran was richly rewarded for the 13 American deaths.

Shameful.

Point 1: The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran and their allies in the current war by signing this MOU, declare the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and undertake from now on not to initiate any war or any military operation against each other, and to refrain from the threat or use of force against each other, and ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon. The final deal will confirm the permanent termination of the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon and other provisions of this paragraph.

What now?

This is a consequence of the US State Department being gutted and career diplomats taking early retirement rather than hanging around for a pink slip via email.

Well, I think people got into Trump's ear about the gas prices, inflation and economy here and he finally acted, but too late for many things. Aside from any considerations about how close Iran was to the nuclear bomb, for sure Trump has frittered this term away in Israel, Venezuela, and Iran rather than looking at home.

Not a good deal in my opinion.

Keep spinning, Trumpsters:

Senate Republicans raise alarm over Trump’s deal with Iran

President Trump’s deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for lifting sanctions on Iran is getting strong pushback from Senate Republicans on Capitol Hill who warn that giving Iran’s theocratic regime access to billions of dollars in economic relief would be a major “blunder.”

Some Republicans are warning that the likely outcome of the more than 100-day conflict is not worth the cost to the nation: the lives of 13 American service members and more than $100 billion spent.

Ronald Reagan is rolling over in his grave,” fumed Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) in a social media post, calling the war and its outcome the “worst foreign policy blunder in decades.”

“Iran’s nuclear ambitions were not curbed, and they have learned that threatening the Strait of Hormuz works and will undoubtedly leverage it in the future. Now, Iran gets to build brand-new infrastructure under this deal,” he wrote on social platform X.

“Now, 13 Americans are dead, families have paid billions at the pump, sanctions will be lifted, and the bombing has stopped,” he continued.

Most concerning to some Senate GOP critics is that the deal will immediately lift sanctions on Iranian oil exports and may lead to the unfreezing of Iranian assets around the world.

“History teaches that giving billions of dollars to theocratic lunatics who want to murder us is not a good idea. I think the president is receiving some very poor advice on this deal,” said Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

“Iran’s nuclear ambitions were not curbed, and they have learned that threatening the Strait of Hormuz works and will undoubtedly leverage it in the future.

Iran received something much more powerful than a nuke.
You can’t actually use a nuke even if you have one.

By closing the Strait any time they wish, Iran can cripple western economies

"US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said Sunday that the deal would see Iran give up their nearly 1,000 pound supply of highly enriched uranium, as well as their status as backers of terrorist proxies in the region."

EXCEPT THATS LITERALLY NOT IN THE SIGNED AGREEMENT. Look at what they actually did not what they said.

And China is taking notes.

Iran humbled the mighty US military with cheap drones
Actually China should be nervous too. This means the giant military they are ramping up can be thwarted by any third world power with cheap drones. Taiwan was watching too. In a year they could be making 10,000 drones a month if they wanted.
