The president's arguments for restricting birthright citizenship ran into a wall of bewilderment, exasperation and even irritation from both liberal and conservative justices.

President Donald Trump became the first sitting president to attend a Supreme Court argument on Wednesday. That gave him a front-row seat to watch the justices, including three he appointed, torch his top priority of restricting birthright citizenship for the children of parents without legal immigration status.

On his first day back in office last year, Trump issued an executive order ending birthright citizenship for the children of undocumented immigrants and temporary residents beginning on Feb. 20, 2025. The case before the court of Trump v. Barbara came out of a string of challenges to that order, which has never taken effect as every court that has heard challenges has ruled against Trump.

This one thing has been a touch stone for 47. His E.O. means nothing, birth right citizenship is written into the Constitution. No matter how MAGA MAGGOTS want to remove anyone who NOT white, it will not happen through SCOTUS.

It's an important issue, and concerns are valid. But blatant dishonesty and paranoid delusion don't help the conversation.

If a Chinese oligarch sends his pregnant mistress to the US on a tourist visa to have the baby, to say that this child is subject to the laws of the USA is a legal fiction.

I can see the justices overturning that part.

How will they do that? They can't make law that conflicts with the 14th Amendment that doesn't contain any exception. Neither can Congress. It all boils down to the fact that Congress would need to amend the Constitution.
