ICE can arrest them in Sanctuary city jails as well....they just need to do so, within the 48 hours the law allows the city/State to detain them for ICE....if ICE does not show up in the 48 hours to take them away, then those detained at the request of ICE, are released...or given bail like any other person arrested etc...

If the illegal has already had a trial and found guilty and is serving time in our prisons, keep them there till sentence served, and ICE has 48 hour notice of the release and has to pick them up within that 48 hours to deport them is my understanding if it.....

Some Sanctuary cities do not give ICE any notice. But that is changing as even democrat, politicians realize keeping criminals here illegally away from ice is an eighty twenty issue with them being on the wrong end.

So ICE is able to make arrests at jails where communities do not have to be bothered, and the "activists" cannot commit violent acts against law enoforcement.
