Historical note: Bay of Pigs (1961) was before the Cuban Missile Crisis (1962). A more appropriate comparison would be between the Bay of Pigs failure and the Afghanistan Withdrawal. In both cases, the USSR/Russia was emboldened to take aggressive action in other countries.
