Illinois voters ask elections board to take Trump off 2024 ballot

Only about 10% of the country is rural, why do they get special voting rights?

Blacks are only about 16% of the population; why do they get voting rights? What about Hispanics, Native Americans, and Asians, who all make up a small percentage of the population? Why do you want to disenfranchise them?

‘A group of voters from Illinois asked the state board of elections Thursday to remove Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot, making it the most recent state where the former president faces a challenge to his candidacy under the 14th Amendment’s so-called insurrectionist ban.

[…]

“Donald J. Trump, through his words and actions, after swearing an oath as an officer of the United States to support the Constitution, engaged in insurrection or rebellion, or gave aid and comfort to its enemies, as defined by Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment,” the voters wrote in their petition to the board of elections.’

Let the states decide, the Supreme Court shouldn’t interfere.
Here they are

A bunch of progressive broads who don't really stand for free speech at all .Shocker!...

Blacks are only about 160% of the population; why do they get voting rights? What about Hispanics, Native Americans, and Asians, who all make up a small percentage of the population? Why do you want to disenfranchise them?
160%? never mind.

I don't see any extra EC votes for black people like we give to Rural States. Why does Wyoming get three electoral votes when they have less than 800K people living in the whole state?

Ok. Then give each state one electoral vote. Whoever wins the most states wins the election. Would you like that system?

Very true, we might very well get rid of the electoral college, and that would be a tragedy.

Then we'd have real elections instead of this bullshit.

Doesn't take away from the fact that under a strict reading of the 14th Amendment, Trump is disqualified.
On the one hand you fuckheads want elections over on one day.

On the other you want them open ended with endless investigations

Your arguments shift with the wind

Hey, here's an idea, why don't those voters just not vote for Trump?

Or here's a crazy idea.

National popular vote. If the Urban areas have the most votes, THEY WIN.

Simple enough.
I don’t want to see candidates pandering to a handful of our five or six largest metropolitan areas. We should not lock out the voices of half the country.

Okay, let's look at that.

How is pandering to five or six "purple" states any better?

Frankly, fixing our cities would fix our country. Instead we have one party that ignores the cities, and another that kind of takes them for granted.

The real problem is that if we had true Democracy, the Party of the Investor Class would be done. There just not enough stupid old white folks to maintain them.
