With Illinois, which on Saturday morning entered its third fiscal year without a budget, facing a catastrophic downgrade, late on Sunday evening the Illinois House approved the most controversial element of a budget package, a tax hike which will increase the income tax rate by 32% from 3.75% to 4.95%, and the corporate income tax rate from 5.25% to 7%, to try and end a historic budget impasse.

Ouch! They do realize this won't work right? I mean it sucks a GOP governor is having to try and fix this but this will just make companies leave and the more well off leave and just leave the poor who don't pay taxes behind to use MORE welfare.....lousy situation all around IMO.

If all of our spending had to be paid for via taxes and if everyone had to pay those taxes, spending would come to a screeching halt and be controlled.

That is why those in government simply print money to pay for things. or they simply pick on a small percentage of voters to pay higher taxes.

Yeah.....I have to say that I don't know anyone here in Illinois who isn't happy to give even more of our hard earned money to the same democrat machine that has spent our money so wisely for the last 50 years.....I mean.....why do I need any money at all.....I think the politicians who destroyed the public pension system, destroyed the state at every level and just refuse to do anything at all to fixe....are just swell.....

So......when you vote democrat...in whatever state you live in.....just understand this....... you don't have money. Everything you earn, everything you bring home in the paycheck you get, belongs to democrat politicians so that they can use it to support themselves and their supporters.....
