Zone1 If Jesus Was A Jew

I don’t hear her denying Jesus. She just understands how arrogant it is to keep quoting New Testament verses to Jews
If I lived in a predominantly Muslim country, I'd be grateful they allowed me to speak my mind on religion without being murdered, but I certainly wouldn't think of telling them the can't talk about their Muslim beliefs in my presence as you do here

That’s not what you’re doing. You continue to quote New Testament versus that are antithetical to Judaism to a Jew who has asked you NOT to. It’s beyond rude and arrogant.

You think because Jesus will “save” you that obnoxious, respectful behavior gets a pass?

Lisa, with respect, these forums are where these differences are presented. If you are offended, don't argue, just ignore what offends you. Hint. If someone offends me personally, I put them on ignore. Don't be drawn into endless arguments that offend you.

Will you be online for the next 10 minutes? I want to type out a reply and won’t if you’ll be offline by then.
I had to jump up for a bit, but I am back now!

I’m trying to let Christians know how offensive they are.

There was a book out some years ago, and the exact title escapes me. It was something like “What we Wish Evangelicals Knew” and had interviews with hundreds of people - mostly Jews, but also atheists and some others - about how obnoxious the constant battering is over their beliefs.

The idea was that if Christians (who evangelize) really knew how much people hate them for doing it, but too polite to give back what they deserve, they would stop the harrassment.

Because it is part of my SOUL. It's what I am. You are in a CHRISTIAN country, debating with Christians and you want to insulate yourself from hearing their beliefs on an AMERICAN meassageboard. THATS what's offensive

That's a misrepresentation at best. It doesn't absolve you of the fact that you are telling people that you can be saved without the blood of Christ.
Christ's blood redeemed the world. God's desire is to save His people from harm that sin brings into one's life and into one's soul.

Great….thanks.

Here’s what I wanted to say: I see that many Christians don’t seem to care how much they insult Jews with their horrible harrassment. (I once had one of them follow me down Las Vegas Blvd going on and on about how Gd’s covenant with Jews no longer applies, etc., etc., and the guy would not stop.)

Is it possible that people like that feel comfortable mistreating Jews because they think they can act like nasty, arrogant people since, they feel, “Jesus died for their sins” and thus all is forgiven?

Some Christian, in an effort to really smack me around, actually told me that you-know-who* could be in Heaven right now, despite his attempted extermination of the Jews if he believed in Jesus.

*I can’t type out his name in the same sentence with Heaven.

It is NOT a Christian country. Just because it’s majority christian doesn’t mean it’s an official Christian country. Our founders took care to make sure it wasn’t.

And believe me, I’ve heard their beliefs over and over again. Are you people for real? You think Jews never heard this before?

Get off your high horse.

I tend to agree. If God wants you in the church, he will send the Holy Spirit to draw you. No amount of evangelizing will draw someone that God hasn't called.

Gd wants me in shul!

I should be there now but I have a cold.

America is the "great" land promised to Manasseh. It was also the "wilderness" that the Archangel Michael carried (guided and protected) the church to for their safety from the Papacy and the Inquisitors. While America is not a Christian country per se, it is a land blessed by God for the benefit of his people Israel, which of course includes the Jews.

Actually, America is more like ancient Egypt. Joseph called his family from the famine in Canaan to the largess he had laid up against the seven years of famine. Likewise, America (Manasseh, Joseph's son) opened her arms first to the brother nations of Europe, the descendants of Israel, as the primary immigrants to the new land of religious freedom and opportunity. That they were mostly Protestant Christian explains why America is thought of as a Christian nation.

It is also noteworthy that America is growing more hostile to the WASP's here just as the Egyptians were to the Israelites, and for the same reasons.

I have this theory. People who attack the faith of another are insecure in their own faith and are also ignorant of the Old Testament (Jewish scripture). What I find most interesting about Christian denominations that disregard this New Testament Verse (John 6:53-58) - Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day" are usually the ones who are crowing about all who don't believe in Jesus will be in hell (which is NOT what was said). Jesus told his followers to remove the huge beam from their own eyes before they try to remove a tiny splinter from another's eye. Until all Christians can remove this beam from their own eyes, they have no business going after anyone of another faith.

I believe Jesus loved the Old Testament and almost all he taught matches these teachings. Jews and Christians should be able to agree on most things. The two things that will keep us separate is the Christian beliefs that God did become man and that we were instructed to (in the form of bread and wine) eat his body and drink his blood. I see no problem with people who believe with all their hearts that God did not become man, and I am confident in my belief He did. The Catholic Catechism teaches us that we are not to force people, who in good conscience, cannot profess belief in what is not in their hearts. The Catechism also teaches that God has an everlasting Covenant with Jews and God keeps His Covenants.

I find it easy to accept that no matter how close we are in many matters of faith there is one unassailable ocean that will always separate us and it is impossible for us to cross. I am also firm in my belief that what is impossible for us is not impossible with God, and that's one part of heaven I look forward to with all my heart.

for the record----I eat flesh and blood every friday----we just call it
bread and wine----and it actually does remain bread and wine. It's
just a ceremony. Hindu ladies put a dot on their foreheads ---just a
ceremony---and kinda cute

Sure Nazi-Soviet and slave of Putin.

1 year. 343-342 BC. This is able to be true or not to be true.

From my point of view was Alexander an unbelievable stupid and brutal character. A born loser - so he died very young on reason of his own brutality and stupidity. I do not have any idea how the behavior of him could fit to an education by Ariostotle. What really had happened in the year 343/342 BC I do not know.
He probably died of an infectious sickness. He was a brutal imperialist
whose mind was molded by Greek supremacism that presaged the brutal
supremacism of Constantine and Canon Law
