We were not born into a world where all would be happy, healthy, and wise. Look to the pyramids; look to the moon landing. Both these took great work, tremendous effort. Both visions led to mankind inventing new tools, developing better materials. Runners and weightlifters build stronger endurance, stronger muscles.
Hardships can come with blessings, especially if one, instead of blaming God and being bitter towards him because of hardship, welcomes Him as the guide/trainer through that pain and tribulation. Christians remember that Jesus' suffering and death led to his resurrection into a new life. Our pain and suffering may not lead to physical death; it can lead into a new life right here.
