We seem to have lost the topic of the thread and you seem not to want to actually discuss things in a rational wayIf there was anything of value in that link, explain it in your own words. If you cannot do that, you do not understand it.
Welcome today World! The United States is evenly divided and polarized. Unless President Biden can get in front of an issue where he has 60% support, there is no point in expecting him to do something. President Biden is doing the best he can. He faces serious problems that lack easy and obvious solutions. Half the country wants him to fail at everything.
But Schumer can and works with Biden…We seem to have lost the topic of the thread and you seem not to want to actually discuss things in a rational way
As to the topic of the thread, the President does NOT have the authority to change Senate rules
The filibuster is of course a Senate rule
Yeah, and a country ran by one political party is glorious in your eyes…The demise of the corrupt Dem party is a beautiful thing.![]()
Gridlock is good if the issue doesn't have overwhelming support. Making radical changes with a 50-50 Senate is stupid, it does not indicate widespread support. This is why I can't stand liberals, you invite chaos for instant gratification instead of actually looking at the long term ramifications. Our Constitution was built on the ideal of compromise to pass laws and run the government
With a filibuster, that is no longer possible.
It creates gridlock…..time to get rid of it
True. But it’s not a contradiction. The best he can do is also to fail at all he does.He is failing at everything.
.
Like installing 3 radicals to the SC with no cloture rule in effect?Gridlock is good if the issue doesn't have overwhelming support. If we want CHINA to run the U.S. we'd elect Democrats.Yeah, and a country ran by one political party is glorious in your eyes…
If one party has the White House, Senate and House, they should be able to pass the legislation they want
Thank youAnd yet your fellow baby-killers STILL lost their federal license to kill. Guess it wasn't that important after all.
LOL
It is the GOP way, stop anything from happening and complain that Democrats got nothing done..The United States is evenly divided and polarized. Unless President Biden can get in front of an issue where he has 60% support, there is no point in expecting him to do something. President Biden is doing the best he can. He faces serious problems that lack easy and obvious solutions. Half the country wants him to fail at everything.
Nope, Justices serve for life, once they make a ruling it's not likely to change for decades. Not the same as federal laws changing every time one side gets control. Next?Like installing 3 radicals to the SC with no cloture rule in effect?
Now lets hear about Reid in......
Making the appointment of radical SC's outside the mainstream much more consequential in the long term than laws.Nope, Justices serve for life, once they make a ruling it's not likely to change for decades. Not the same as federal laws changing every time one side gets control. Next?
Radicals? Sad.Making the appointment of radical SC's outside the mainstream much more consequential in the long term than laws.
And yet it was Nixon that opened that door…If we want CHINA to run the U.S. we'd elect Democrats.![]()
Thank you
More justification for why we need to end the Filibuster
The idiots thought that the Supreme Court would actually stand by their decisionsNothing was filibustered on abortion. Your party didn't even TRY, even when they have the House, Senate, and White House. Why is that?
It is sad. Those radical justices never would have been confirmed had the filibuster rule not been changed.Radicals? Sad.
