I'm wondering how many Christians would see this as blasphemy.

Also wondering how many Catholics would have a problem with Trump threatening the Pope.

Also wondering whether threatening genocide is "pro-Christian" or not, based on the Noah's Ark story where God basically commits genocide would make genocide "pro-Christian".

As I ssid, I dont really care. What the Catholic Church does is not my business.

I would take a dim view of the Pope encouraging illegal immigration, but that part is my business.

Anyway, if the church no longer asks the poor for tithes, I applaud that change. It has been almost 40 years since I was engaged to a Catholic young lady. Saint Ann's on Westheimer in Houston sent her family a flyer enouraging them to tithe 10% of the wedding costs with a warning to "be honest with the Lord."

His church must be doing so well they don't ask for money. Or they don't want to run people off. I do find it hard to believe that they don't ask for an annual "donation" but I can say the Greek Church for years never came out and asked me for money. But then all that changed. I think as all the old people are dying they are hurting for money. Fewer and fewer people coming on Sunday and dropping $10's and $20's in the basket. So they must ask for money.

Anyways, I also noticed my Church got more conservative. Anti abortion, anti Islam, Anti Gay. Good! Makes it easier for me to not go, join, pay or participate. If they go right, I go left, to the exit.

Anyways, so I noticed they sent my dad that shit about 10% of your income. I make $100K and I'm supposed to give $10K a year to the church? No way. And everyone is supposed to do that? The Church would be loaded.

But too many people like OhPleaseJustQuit who don't pay. They still go listen to a pedophile but they won't pay. LOL.

And it's funny how suddenly MAGA suddenly "hate" the pope. All it took was for Trump to hate him. If Trump hates him, so do they. Who knows if they really didn't like the pope before? It's like Howard Stern. They used to love Stern. Trump used to love Stern. But Stern didn't endorse him so now MAGA hates Stern.

In her later years, my mom joined 2nd Baptist, a mega church in Houston. My wife and I went with her one Sunday. At Baptist church, they end with a call for people who want to be saved to come to the front. My wife shocked me by going forward. She has always been happy being Episcopal.

They baptized several that day. While my wife was drying off, the ladies of the collection squad approached her (surrounded her, she described it) and explained that the 10% tithe was mandatory and only the minimum - more would be asked for upcoming projects. They would want to see my pay stubs to verify.

My wife was about as mad as I've seen her. She bit her tongue so as not to offend my mom.

This isn't the first time MAGA has criticized the Pope. But we've never criticized any church if they don't stick their nose into the business of the nation. That's the difference between MAGA and old school "conservative Republicans."

FINALLY, someone with the brains and temerity to just SAY IT.

Has it not occurred to anyone that whatever the left accuses the Right of is ALWAYS an indicator of what they are doing?

All the democrats have done for ages is position themselves as gods over the common folk. They run your lives, they decide and control everything, and they keep people in the dark about it. They see all, know all, and are infallible. The rules and laws that control you do not even apply to them.

The Left think of themselves and view themselves as smarter, brighter, more educated and better than the general riffraff. So when someone flouts this artwork depicting Trump in a savior-like appearing situation, naturally the Left just RUNS with it as some big news item. What better way to deflect from what they are doing by making you think the OTHER side is?

I think you're being sincere, but I also think you're not seeing that many Christians who are diehard Trump loyalists HAVE turned Trump into an idol. If you need examples, I can round some up for you.

Of course Dems do that too, not only with certain presidents but they do that with government in general... but many of those Dems weren't professed Christians. The difference is, Christians should know better. Idolatry is a big sin.
