Zone1 If all that one knows, believes, & follows is the "Great Commandment", will they go to Heaven?

No, He knows us by our BEHAVIOR. There are 613 commandments that dictate good behavior.
It would be a waste of time arguing the Mosaic Law with you because we are on totally opposite pages when it comes to Yeshua, the Son of God.

No, He knows us by our hearts.
You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Enjoy being alone out there on your limb. Here's a hint, don't cut between you and the trunk.
“I am telling you the truth: if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you will not have life in yourselves."

Ones good works and what one does to help the least among us. What we do for ourselves means nothing. Hence greed and wanting wealth works against us.

Do you not distinguish between the Lord and we humans? He sees the heart, remember? We don't, we see the outside, the deeds. He sees the heart. Again you argue something I'm not saying.

When was the first time you tasted blood that the priest gave you?

Are you arguing that Jesus was wrong? What ever happened to your following scared scripture?

Yes, it is pointless and disrespectful for a Christian to keep telling a Jew that Jesus was the son of Gd, as you just did once again.

We're saying completely different things and you're trying to make them equal. They're not. God sees the heart, do you deny that?

No, I don't deny that. Does a good heart produce bad fruit? Because the fruit you are producing is rotten.

Then you acknowledge that I am right, God looks on the heart. That's what I've been saying this whole time while you're off onto how we see each other, which isn't what I was saying. Do you finally see how you're arguing nonsense?

If you are arguing your heart is good and your fruit is bad, then no, I am not agreeing with you.

Yes. It’s how a person BEHAVES and treats others that matters! What is “in the heart” is meaningless if actions don’t match up.

It sort of reminds me of this quote: “Your actions are screaming so loudly, I can’t hear what you’re saying” or in the case above, what’s “in the heart.”

I don't believe he is a bad person. I believe he is over zealous and doesn't realize that the way he is going about it is disrespectful to others. That or he doesn't care in which case I would be wrong for giving him the benefit of the doubt.

He’s certainly not among the worst I’ve come across on this forum, but could he possibly be so oblivious that he doesn’t realize adding in “son of Gd” after Jesus’ name when addressing a traditional Jew is, at best, passive-aggressive?

It would be like my responding to him - or any Christian for that matter, by saying “Jesus, a mortal man” in every exchange. Why not just say Jesus and leave it at that?

For example, it would be like my asking “Did Jesus, a mortal man, keep kosher?” when addressing a Christian.

No, I am arguing that God sees our hearts, and you keep going on about doing good deeds and that's how others see us. Can you not even see that we're not disagreeing, but saying two different things?

And the difference is who is looking.

Man sees the outer appearance, does anyone deny that?
God sees the heart, so the outer does nothing to sway what He sees. Does anyone deny that?

That should settle the issue. It's not even an argument.

Gd sees what people DO, and the mitzvot they do - and that is what is pleasing to Him.

This is a key difference between Judaism and Christianity. Jews focus on how one behaves - the Law - and Christians focus on what one believes - Faith.
