I thought eggs were supposed to be cheaper.

Nope....
Mitch McConnell did it. See my post on the preceeding page.

Trump is just continuing it.

.

Fuck ... If someone cannot afford a dozen eggs ... I am willing to say it's because they're incompetent and a failure at life.
It probably has more to with a series of bad life choices than the color of any hat they wear.

However ... If your point is how absurd it is to piss and whine about the current price of eggs ...
Simply depending on the color hat someone wears at any given time ... It's obviously not restricted to one color hat ...

.
Red Hats are from rural areas where poorer people live. Also, if a bird flu outbreak hits, they'll be the first to feel it.

That's all the red hats were complaining about on here pre election. That they couldnt afford eggs.
If allowed to do so the free market will bring down the price of eggs with no intervention from the federal government

Trump promised that groceries would get cheaper starting on day 1 of his presidency.

Not even 5 full days in office yet & why hasn't Trump solved my jock itch?

This is exactly why democrats will never win the presidency again! That and your delay tactics for Trumps cabinet appointees...which the whole world is watching!

It's his problem now. His answer to the bird flu outbreak was to shut down all CDC communication and guidance. Good luck if you live in a rural area. That chicken shit WILL blow into your area and pass along to other farm animals and as we've already seen, humans as well, mutating within the human body to pass easier from human to human. Enjoy!

No....
Not really the problem whatsoever. Epidemics come and go constantly among livestock. Farms have to euthanize livestock to stop the outbreaks. Farmers insure the animals. Get some new ones, and go on farming.

The problem is that the small farmers....the ones who will only have 250K birds at a time.....they have been deliberately bankrupted by farm Credit.
Centralized farming has NEVER WORKED .

Farming spread out over the country will be more immune to disease than centralized farming ever thought about. Which requires small farmers. And Farm Credit has been successfully bankrupting small farmers for a dozen years now.

Actually the bird flu is causing the rise in egg prices.

.

So what ... I live in a rural area where you can pay a neighbor $5 for 2 dozen 'free-range' yard eggs.

That's a long way from the damn near $14 a dozen nit-wits in the cities could be paying for 'organic free-range' eggs.
Shit ... The only reason you're giving $5 is to be nice about the fact they saved you a trip to town ... And a little something for the effort.

The bird flu has already been through here ... And the good part is that rural folks actually know how to take care of themselves.
If there aren't enough eggs at the moment ... Shoot that wild hog that just tore up the back corner of your yard.

You can eat that bastard too ... Then collect the bounty on the hog's tail ...
To buy even more eggs when they become available ...

.

Because egg farming has been centralized and the farm had an outbreak.

If egg farming had not been centralized we wouldn't have a price hike because only a few small farms would have been affected.

Better eggs too.

Trump promised that groceries would get cheaper starting on day 1 of his presidency. Especially eggs. What happened? Was he just making shit up again?
And I thought the Inflation Reduction Act was supposed to keep eggs, milk, beef and other consumer goods from skyrocketing 30-40 percent in the first place?

You people fucked us with exacerbated inflation in the first place.

Damn, it's been less than a week. Give the guy a break. It's interesting that nobody expected grocery prices to ever come down during Biden or Harris.
His dept of Ag appointee (seed oil lobbyist) and her assistant (son in law to Thune) are portents of things to come.

None of these people are even remotely interested in helping small farmers. They are deeply in the pockets of corporate farms and big business.

Living in a rural small farming town, I probably go to church with 20 folks who can sell me those same eggs. I love it because I know what they feed their chickens and that the eggs are very fresh! You can call someone and request a couple dozen eggs to be brought to church on Sunday morning. We also have farmers who put their products out on an honor pay cart when they're in season, and leave a notice on FB, but it's too cold now to leave eggs outside.

I love FARM FRESH!!!!!

.

Because that was supposed to happen in four days, right?

Nonetheless, there is a shortage of eggs right now due to the Avian flu and yes, Trump's policies are unlikely to result in prices dropping, particularly if he follows through with his tariffs. At least attempt to make an intelligent argument.
Trump seems to think that suppliers pay tariffs not consumers.

Don't expect drilling to solve problems in a year.
It takes 5 years for the new wells to be effective.

The land rented, a "platform" and road has to be built for drilling rigs and later collection or pipeline.
Then the well has to be drilled...maybe it works and maybe it does not.
Then the well needs to be spudded....(valve and pipeline to separator and collection or pipeline)

Then refined....which the refineries are backlogged. We don't have enough. Most are offshore as new land based refineries are impossible with current EPA regulations.
