I think this says something about the trump government.

The idea that an elected bureaucrats should be allowed to go rogue with no oversight from congress or the president, is a recipe for disaster in a democracy.
You keep repeating that as though the FCC hasn't always been subject to congressional oversight while being designed to be independent, (according to its mission statement...........until yesterday) not to fall victim to political pressure from the executive branch (as is currently happening).

Correct so it is not independent. it is managed by the executive and overseen by the legislative. You only want it to be independent from donald trump or the next republican president in twenty twenty nine.

Sorry but it doesn't work that way.

The mission statement is not the law.The law determines who has control over executive agencies. Hint, it is in the name "executive agencies."

Nowhere does the law say that the FCC is to be independent. The executive branch runs executive agencies.

If a Democrat wins in 2028 you will live to regret all the power you have heaped on the president

Because that’s how authoritarians are able to maintain power, by controlling media.

See Viktor Orban as an example.

You seriously think we have an authoritarian government? When did it start? 2016? 2024? 1861? 1776?
What a maroon you are.

The Constitution and other laws heaped power on the president.

I have disagreed with the decisions.A president's from both parties in regards to executive agencies. But of course, I had no legal basis to claim that they didn't have the authority to run those agencies.

If a candidate for president is so horrible that they should not be given all of the powers of the executive branch, then it is up to the other party to defeat that candidate.

Your complaint is with the DNC for not putting forth a credible alternative to donald trump in twenty twenty four.

The US has not had a candidate worth all that power in 40 to 50 years

Because I do not want what I watch or listen to to be based on the whims of whomever is the president at the time.
So turn off the tv. No one is forcing you to watch things that have been under government regulation since the FCC was established in 1934.

The federal reserve is not in the constitution.

Just admit you’re an authoritarian and want the president to have an enormous amount of power.

It's implied in the Congressional ability to print banknotes, which is why it's quasi-independence, much like the post office, is more of a reality than the rest of the so called independent agencies.

The President is supposed to have a lot of power, it's why he was included in the Constitution after the failure of the Articles of Confederation.

You are arguing out of your weight class here, Moroner.

Why is it those that support Trump all seem to hate freedom also?

Trump is making the government more authoratian. It’s not a yes/no, it’s a spectrum.

We are going further down the road of authoratianism under Trump then ever before.

I disagree.

Congress, who created it, designed it to be independent from the kind of political pressure that trump exerts on every governmental agency. Changing the language on the website being a tacit acknowledgement an agency that once enjoyed independence no longer has it.

But you already know all that. If by now you don't, you have your head much further up your ass than I thought humanly possible.
