You gotta be strong in what you believe in and can't be ashamed, you know?

If you don't mind me asking: What do you believe in as to the reason you would vote for the "distinguished gentleman from Taxachusetts" ?

she's "conforming"

Ya, it's my favorite thing to do... when I have the time... :D

Well, to keep this as vague as possible because I am getting ready to leave my job for the day, I agree with his issues on
AIDS, Civil Rights, College Affordability Economy & Jobs, Women's Issues, Protecting America's Workers, Foreign Policy, Education and Small Businesses.

But I'm still looking more into his "A Strategy for Iraq" thing.

I'm not sure if this will make things worse or not, but originally I was for Clark... K, gotta run...

No disrespect meant, but could you pick a couple of topics and say which of his stands you agree with on which topic? He differs now and again.

Sounds more to me like she is an "Anybody but Bush" supporter.

AIDS: Bush had dedicated more to this than any president ever.

Civil Rights: Not sure what is wrong today that requires a change...

College Affordability: Again, not sure what is wrong today that requires a change...

Economy & Jobs: Unemployment rate is the same as when Clinton was re-elected. Not sure what is wrong today that requires a change...

Women's Issues: Be specific

Protecting America's Workers: What are his plans?

Foreign Policy: Be specific. Is foreign relations more important than security?

Education: Kerry voted against "No Child left Behind"

Small Businesses: Not a subject any democratic president can even come close to the GOP on.....

Again, she is voting for Kerry as she belong to the "Anybody but Bush" party..... not becuase he has a better position on any of the issues.

Sigh.... I purposely left this vague, as stated in my above post because I was leaving work and knew that I would not get a chance to respond right away to explain myself, but I figured that I would give you guys some sort of answer.

Now, to explain myself, before I am labeled further by people who have me figured out already, here are my reasons for certain issues as requested by kathianne and freeandfun1.

Civil Rights:
Support "mend it, don't end it" for affirmative action.
Flag burning is displeasing, but it's free expression.
For partnership rights and civil union.
Include a sunset provision in the Patriot Act.
Voted YES on adding sexual orientation to definition of hate crimes.
Voted YES on loosening restrictions on cell phone wiretapping.
Voted YES on expanding hate crimes to include sexual orientation.
Voted YES on setting aside 10% of highway funds for minorities & women.
Voted NO on prohibiting same-sex marriage.
Voted YES on prohibiting job discrimination by sexual orientation.
Voted NO on Amendment to prohibit flag burning.
Voted NO on banning affirmative action hiring with federal funds.

Education:
National Education Trust Fund: fully fund mandated standards.
Measure learning, but with flexible standards. .
Supported "No Child Left Behind," but Bush reneged.
Voted YES on funding smaller classes instead of private tutors.
Voted YES on funding student testing instead of private tutors.
Voted YES on spending $448B of tax cut on education & debt reduction.
Voted NO on allowing more flexibility in federal school rules.
Voted NO on school vouchers in DC. Vouchers drain resources from public schools.
Voted NO on $75M for abstinence education. (Though I don't fully agree on this, I don't think abstinence should be the only option taught. It should be as it is now, where abstinence is one of the options.)
Voted NO on requiring schools to allow voluntary prayer.
Voted YES on national education standards.
Offer every parent Charter Schools and public school choice.

Small Business:
Kerry owned a small business: they're engine of economy.
Close the loopholes that reward corps taking jobs overseas.
Regulate on side of citizens, not on side of corporations.
Voted NO on restricting rules on personal bankruptcy.

Foreign Policy:
Excluding other nations in rebuilding Iraq is a mistake.
Supports multilateral cooperative internationalism.
Voted YES on enlarging NATO to include Eastern Europe.
Voted YES on killing a bill for trade sanctions if China sells weapons.
Voted YES on limiting the President's power to impose economic sanctions.
Voted NO on limiting NATO expansion to only Poland, Hungary & Czech.
Voted YES on $17.9 billion to IMF.
Voted NO on Strengthening of the trade embargo against Cuba.
Voted YES on ending Vietnam embargo.
Progressive Internationalism: globalize with US pre-eminence.
Multi-year commitment to Africa for food & medicine.

I know I didn't mention this above, but Abortion:
Partial-birth abortion ban undermine women's right to choose.
No criminalization of a woman's right to choose.
Voted NO on maintaining ban on Military Base Abortions.
Voted NO on banning partial birth abortions.
Voted NO on disallowing overseas military abortions.

Okay, I'll be back to respond to the other issues I agree with. Granted I know not everyone will agree, but these are just some of the reasons why

I plan on voting for Kerry. :D

I got to run, errands to do before my day is over!!

How do you figure?

He pledged to spend $15 billion over five years to prevent new AIDS infections, provide antiretroviral treatment and care for the sick and orphans.

Of course, there are those distractors that say, "it ain't enough, he is too slow to release the money, et al" but it is still more than any other president has pledged. Those that hate Bush though will never give him any credit.

Bush's AIDS plan advances

What did Clinton do to fight aids in the 90's when we had soooooo much money and goodwill on earth?

A lot to reply to, but as a small business owner for over 10 years, I had to laugh at this:

Small Business:
Kerry owned a small business: they're engine of economy. Close the loopholes that reward corps taking jobs overseas. Regulate on side of citizens, not on side of corporations. Voted NO on restricting rules on personal bankruptcy.

He must have only owned one for a short time.

Heinz corp employes over 70% of their employees overseas.

What types of corporations are there? Small business owners own corporations too. His (Kerry's) tax policies would severely hurt SMALL businesses.

Not sure what you are talking about in regards to personal bankruptcy and business.....

So it's official, the United States Message Board is a conservative Republican majority and officially endorses the re-election of President George W. Bush!

lol, this we knew

Anyway, I'm voting for Kerry "if he accepts the nomination." :D

My reason for doing so is that his daughter is hot and his wife is rich. :D

Oh, and the fact that he is a traitor and a war criminal were considerations too.:D
