I bought a European grass snake as a pet when I was a boy. I purchased it in the spring and was told it only ate baby frogs. So I duly went to the local ponds catching baby frogs. But the snake was vicious and lunged against the fish tank trying to bite me every time I went past. There was no love there and you could not possibly want to cuddle a vicious snake. But what finally finished it for me was that when the snake swallowed frogs feet first they screamed as they were going into its mouth. I can still hear them screaming now. So I let it go on the common and told it to go catch its own frogs. I don't suppose it survived for long and I don't care.
