How will SNAP and WIC Users Health be Affected by the Cutoff?

Here in Virginia the state is going to deposit pro-rated funds into SNAP accounts on a weekly basis until it is resolved. Basically the blue areas will be funding the red areas Dollar General pizzas. If you normally get $400 a month, instead you will get $100 a week.

Good!

Virginia knows what Virginians need. Should have never been a federal program in the first place.

PA is not paying anything, so much for your 'blue areas' funding anything,

PA is blue, D governor who is going to let the people starve, and lies constantly about it. Wonder when he'll figure out his party hates him, he's a Jew after all.
IDK. I just know that my state is going to send the deposits weekly for as long as it can if the shutdown lingers. The Keystone State is like another planet.

That's because Virginia's governor is a republican and not using it to play politics with like Shapiro in PA is. He's even posting all over facebook, blatantly lying about the situation, same shit different day when it comes to lying D's.

Perhaps it is because there is an election in Virginia next week in which the GOP is in danger of being driven completely from power since his declaration was full of blaming democrats including the state's two senators, for shutting down the federal government. Anyway, the budget surplus money he is wasting on this will be coming out of the surplus money that is normally refunded to the masses.

He's doing the right thing, which is what any responsible person would do, and his blame is directly on target since Virginia's two D senators have voted 'no' to opening the federal government 13 times now. And I'm glad to see you say that it's a 'waste of money', do your compatriot D politicians agree with you that it's a 'waste' as well?

I am not a D. I am just pointing out the situation as I see it. I did not indicate that I approve or disapprove of the weekly SNAP benefits. I do, however, disapprove of the way he is going about doing it.

EBT should be eliminated altogether. If the churches were doing their job they'd step up to assist people truly in need, not to mention all of the private charities out there.
Churches CAN do good works, but that isn't the purpose of God's Church. But mostly I agree

It should be the fruit they bear if they're doing what they're supposed to be doing in the right way.

15th post
People aren't going to be any more starving on Day 1 of the SNAP cutoff than the dirty masses were on Day 1 of the COVID shutdowns. They've had a month to prepare or not prepare, whichever they elected to do. Only difference is this will probably be over next week sometime.

Paul's Pantry is a good source of food for poor folks.

Churches would quickly be overwhelmed by the insatiable appetite of the fat poor people.

I favor prepared meals for the poor wherever possible. That way good food in reasonable portions can be served hopefully improving the health of the poor and taking some of the load off the healthcare system.
