Here's a quote of Trump saying that very same thing after "listening to the people" who wanted Hillary locked up, and then told his supporters "you're smart for knowing I wasn't actually going to do this, right?" When actually they thought he would do it, so he's telling them they're stupid, while pretending to call them smart.
