Zone1 How to be educated and not indoctrinated

You are simply not important to me when you talk shit you know nothing about.
I doubt much is important to you. When you can't remember what we talked about before and you know nothing about me, it's pretty obvious you don't know what I know, what I've experienced, or who I am.

The topic is education vs indoctrination. I wonder if you might talk about that instead of disrespecting me?

I thought you wanted to discuss the topic.

I disrespect people who show no respect for education. There is no indoctrination in about 90 percent of the schools in the US outside of blue cities and states. People who pretend otherwise use a broad brush to paint every school as indoctrination centers where no education takes place. They take media stories from liberal dominated schools and ignore the successes going on every day in most of America's schools. Everyone who received an education thinks they are an expert on education, despite never having observed even a full day in a classroom. They see homeschool successes but turn a blind eye to the disasters that public school teachers have to deal with every day. They read about teachers on Long Island, NY making 6 figure salaries, and full retirements, yet do not account for their high cost of living in those areas, and think teachers in Ocala, Florida are making about a third of that amount in their paychecks and receiving 36% of their pay upon retirement.

That is why I cannot respect education bashing know-nothings with diarrhea of the mouth on a topic they really do not understand.

I stand by my post and based on your post, I rest my case. You won't address the topic. Do have a wonderful day.

I will not address a topic that has no bearing on anything because of your imagination. How is that for crystal clear?

You hype things found in NYC and think the same thing occurs in North Dakota. You seem to think Arlington VA has the same education as Bristol VA. You think the dirt poor schools in East St. Louis. IL are the same as rich schools in Lake Forrest IL.

Put away your broad brush and we can discuss the issue, but until you get a grip on the realities in public education, you really have nothing to say.

When you read and comprehend what you read in my posts, I'll believe you were actually an educator. Okay?

It would help if you were capable of addressing the thread topic instead of attacking me, especially in context I never argued. Most especially when we've already had this conversation that you seem to be unable to remember.

I'm sorry you can't see anything but your apparent disapproval of me. I thought the thread offered an interesting topic. I wish more would also see it that way and address it.

You were wrong, and that is what I pointed out. Thank you very little for your bias.

You didn't point out where I was wrong in any part of my post. You just drew a lot of assumptions and accused me of saying what I didn't say.

So who is biased here?

Can you offer an argument to distinguish between indoctrination and education? So far you haven't done that.

I said your entire post was wrong. Could I be any clearer?

Oh you were clear about that. You just refuse to show where it was wrong. That comes from bias far more than anything I have said.

Now once more. Can you or can you not distinguish between indoctrination and education which is the thread topic? A real educator I would think could do that easily. Or is your intent to continue to attack me?

If it is the latter, again have a lovely day. I'll move on to somebody who can actually discuss the thread topic.

What part of everything you posted is wrong is not sufficient?

You provided no facts and figures to dispute, which I attribute to your lack of knowledge of the topic. They would be easy to refute, if you had any!

You can simply stop responding with BS and I will have no reason to attack you. The only attack I have made is to show you have a broad brush, exaggerate, and are clueless. No one says you have to respond to my posts. If you just let it lie and let other posters decide who is right.

It's amazing. Most of US have a window into the world that we carry around in our pockets.

There is news, discussion, music, history, teachers, teaching videos, and on and on. However there is a lot of misleading really bad shit too. IMO, kids need to be taught how to properly curate their own searches and uses for their phone and we better do it fast because those phones (really hand held phone, communication, information device) is NOT going away.

Don't be gullible, don't accept things on face value, be courageous and good, compete, and have some religious guidance. That should do it.
I agree with your point about being informed, but the dirty truth is that organized religion conditions one to embrace faith, and faith is the opposite of reason. Faith is simply the act of believing something that you know cannot be proved.

As H.L. Mencken put it a century ago, faith may be defined briefly as an illogical belief in the occurrence of the improbable.
