How people are leaving MAGA

I am not good with that generalization.

And there is no actual answer to specifics when it is rooted in ideology.

I am very ideologically driven when it comes to federal politics. Which means I might not be a fan of Donald Trump (and I am not a fan of his late night outbursts.....but I'll take that over Harris/Biden/Clinton/Warren/Sanders any day of the week, any week of the month and any month of the year).

And Trump was an ideological hero to me with:

Gorsuch
Kavennaugh
Barrett

Then came a time when Barrett started to take some heat and I blew up at more than one right-winger. Barrett was accused of turning on Trump, which she did not do. She simply stayed with the Constitution (her job....and oh, that KTJ would get an enema and clear her head) and if Trump was out of line, she voted against him. My guess is that he was plenty understanding.

But in today's world, a kink in the tribal armor can be seen as needing being fixed. Which, in this case it didn't. Barrett has since demonstrated her committment to a conservative approach to the constitution. She's a great judge.

Kavennaugh and Gorsuch has also not agreed at times.

GREAT. That's what I wanted and what Trump gave us....and INDEPENDENT COURT. Not a group of ass-kissing brain-dead morons like Sotomeyer, Kagan and (especially) Jackson.

I just would like to see people abandon the idea of "following" a particular political figure. I may not be a fan of Trump, but I'd rather him over the Democrats any day of the week - doesn't mean I have to support, or like most of what he says.

The core dysfunction of US politics.
You keep blathering about it.

Which is easy since you've not put anything that doesn't look like dog**** forever.

Just how bad do they have to be? You can't answer that.

Let me put it this way.

I don't like Trump for a lot of reasons.

But if he could run for a third term, I'd vote for him. Because I like a lot more about him than I don't like.

Dysfunction that and sit on it.

I wouldn't want Trump for a third term. But I wouldn't want to vote for the Democrats in 2028 either.

I am fine with jailing all criminals.

If they came here to work, illegally, we should arrest them and put them to work.

Otherwise, all of them go.

Illegal mean ILLEGAL.

Where did you idiots lose track of that.

As always, there are two sides. Even Trump himself explored the other side instead of just throwing them all in prison, like you’re saying. Is he an idiot for not wanting to throw them all in prison?

Don't lose sight of the fact that Trump was a Hail Mary in a time of desperation.

The left and the establishment GOP had abandoned and marginalized the conservative voice.

Trump, while not conservative, likes a challenge and is a contrarian.

He was perfect for the time. He became a voice.

Yeah....maybe to much of a loudmouth.....but he's given a lot of backbone to the right at a time when their collective spine had turned to jelly.

WE DON'T WANT TO GO BACK.

People have to stop looking at him and start looking for lots of tough minded people (I personally like 70 year old grandmothers who often tell people......awww.....so sorry....now get out there and mow the lawn...and, more importantly, where did you get the idea someone owed you that.....you want it, get a second job....we are not giving it to you).

As always, there are two sides.
Not in this case

Don't care.

I don't agree with Trump on many things. Holding him up as some kind of standard is a lazy argument on your part.

Is he an idiot for not wanting to throw them all in prison?
Never considered the question and have no intentions of doing so.

It's all situational.

But you maybe didn't get my point.

WE ARE NOT GOING BACK.

So, if it's someone like Trump in the primary vs some milquetoast like Jeb Bush.....there is no question in my mind.

Trump could be doing better.

But we could be doing a lot worse.

Trump disagrees. Even he sees the value of having workers, illegal or not, in certain sectors.
Maybe you missed the memo: I Don't care about what Trump has to say on the matter.

And maybe you don't understand what the term illegal means (oh wait....that refers to the law......which is really more of guideline in your way of thinking).

Like the airhead, vapid clown, Kamala

We dodged a bullet

You know, it is interesting how (at least in my experience) it is the Trump cultists who act the most immature around here. Sure, there are some left wing SJWs around here who are similar, but it is these die-hard MAGA brainlets who show the least amount of intelligence. Quite the fall from grace.

I was polite and nice to all until 04NOV2020. Then I had had enough Stain. I left for ~2yrs? Then came back to bash dishonorable dishonest dirty anti-American ALLStain. It became a war, that we did not start. We are right Stain are wrong. Case closed//

Have you wondered why Trump hasn’t deported all illegal immigrants? Most of them are still here. I don’t think he’s as adamant about this topic as you are. Like me, he sees the value in having cheap illegal workers here.

MAGA doesn’t want independent thinkers. MAGA wants people who fall in line with Trump at all times.

Liz Cheney, Barrett, MTG, Massie are all enemies of MAGA. No matter how conservative they are or the policies they support, the moment they disagreed with Trump they became the enemy.
Rational thinking is the enemy of FAGAt ideology.

These kinds of people are exactly why I don't consider myself "MAGA".
