How much have U.S. farmers been affected by illegal immigrants being deported?

The Farmer's Doubter

Do other agricultural exporters rely on cheap foreign labor? Did America before this Peon Invasion?

Also, technology constantly produces more at less cost. So there should have been less need for migrant labor. The actual increase must really be a demand for higher profits.

American workers are not readily available for farm labor due to a combination of factors, including a general preference for less labor-intensive jobs with better benefits and competitive wages, as well as challenges inherent in the agricultural sector. Additionally, the historical reliance on a global workforce, often with a greater willingness to accept lower wages and harder conditions, has further impacted the availability of American workers.

Here's a more detailed look at the reasons:

1. Preference for Less Labor-Intensive Jobs and Better Benefits:
  • Many Americans, particularly those with higher education and access to other job opportunities, are more drawn to careers that offer higher pay, better benefits, and a more predictable work environment.

  • Farm work often involves repetitive and physically demanding tasks, exposure to the elements, and limited benefits, making it less appealing to those with more choices.
  • The availability of corporate jobs, remote work options, and other industries that can offer higher wages and better benefits further reduces the appeal of farm work.
2. Challenges in the Agricultural Sector:
  • Low Wages and Limited Benefits:
Farm labor often involves low wages, lack of overtime pay, and limited benefits compared to other sectors.

  • Seasonal Work:
Farm work is often seasonal, with periods of high demand followed by periods of inactivity, making it difficult for some to make a consistent living
    .

  • Difficult Working Conditions:
Farm work can be physically demanding, involving repetitive tasks, exposure to the elements, and potential risks associated with pesticides and machinery.

  • Lack of Federal Labor Protections:
Farm workers are often excluded from federal labor laws that protect other workers, such as the right to unionize and earn overtime pay.

I am glad you used the word politicians because it is both parties and over 50 years that have been unable to solve the problem.

The thing is that simply deporting illegal aliens (not looking for an answer to the kind of people willing to till the fields, which most Americans are not willing to do) is not a solution EITHER, meaning that the problem is now likely to be exacerbated.
Wall Street Totalitarianism

Anyone who assumes that higher wages, which are necessary to attract American workers, will automatically lead to higher consumer prices is trying to push the idea that no one should ever have to lower his profit margins.

But the consumer creates the wealth of the producers, who, by reversing that to a claim that they create our money for purchases, are trying to force their self-declared absolute priority on us.

Are you a socialist?

the assertion there is that minimum wage is zero. But zero wage means zero labor. Capitalism always tries to minimize costs while maximizing productivity or output, using any means necessary.
Plutelickers Get Slick and Slurpy Tongues

Only incompetent businessmen have to cheat their employees. We can't assume that because they got where they are they deserve to be there. And those who promoted these people showed only a self-gratifying sense of judgment.

40% of the migrants working in agriculture are illegal.

Has Trump offered any plan that will allow more migrants to come legally?
We don;t need foreign workers (illegals) to harvest our crops, we have enough unemployed people living on our streets that htye could do the harvesting and receive a salary if someone bright would work this out.

you have no idea what```````````` you are talking about. Do some research

That would be nice, if and when you can find Americans that are willing to till the fields. That is a huge problem, because 99% of Americans are not willing to do so.

If that is true, I don't believe it is, but say it's true. Ther is nothing wrong with bringing back the chain gang.

A lot of American poor have become fat and lazy and granted, they will refuse to work in the fields nor any gainful employment.
However, I do know if the government will stop subsidizing them through our tax dollars (impossible task) they may revert to work.
All I know is that I was raised in poverty and the government did not step in and aid me nor my family and as a young kid, I would do virtually any kind of labor to earn a few dollars. at one time my brother and IO rode our bicycles around five miles to pick blackberries at 5 cents per quart and that got old pretty quick! Then we'd push a lawnmower around a square mile trying to find a lawn to mow for 50 cents and occasionally, we'd find one and labor at that. Folks won't and don't do that nowadays.
