How much do extremely wealthy people owe to the society that gave them the chance to prosper so much?

No, I understand that. YOU seem not to understand that your perspective is nothing BUT limits due to your utter lack of life experience. I'm quite certain you don't have the humility to think there might be nothing whatsoever that you have to teach anyone.

As brilliant and innovative as your parents and tutors have incorrectly encouraged you to believe you are, you actually have said nothing whatsoever that has not been said by every full-of-himself 18-year-old in modern history. Before assuring yourself that you could teach those "arrogant old farts" if they would just listen to your "fresh" perspective, you should make an effort to find out what a tired bunch of retreaded canards you're actually spouting.

This is why children used to be taught to respect their elders, and shut their mouths and open their ears in their presence.

I haven't once claimed to be brilliant or innovative. You and others keep acting like I have. Honestly it makes you seem kind of insecure.

And sometimes NOT having help causes a better outcome. Steve Jobs being an example.

You think Steve Jobs is a shining example of somebody that achieved without any help from others?

thats all youve done is claim to be smarter and know all the answers,,

Very bright people figure out how to get what they need. Education included.

People also do better when they don't have to do everything themselves and/or the hard way. You make it sound like ideal situations have no impact on the end product. That's ridiculous. Saying "Smart people will figure it out." kind of misses the point entirely.

Well, I'm certain that's what it seems like from your perspective of never doing anything for yourself. I don't doubt that you've thought many long, deep thoughts on how much better you are than all those poor fools who didn't have rich parents to spoil them.

Reality shows us that pampered little princes and princesses tend to be useless creatures, while people who have to work for everything they have tend to both accomplish more and value it more. You'll recognize this once you grow up enough to have some actual skin the game with a job and a family, rather than simply daydreaming about theory.

In the meantime, here's another thing you should learn but won't because you think you know it all and invented most of it.

You seem deeply invested in putting me down and believing you're better than me.

In the vast majority of cases, it is.

I don't think so. I think the vast majority of people aren't born with the kind of discipline or perspective necessary to figure out and conquer life all on their own. Most people benefit a lot from the help they receive from others, even if they're incapable of seeing how much others have helped them.

see theres another one you claim to know more than the rest of us,,

I have opinions. I'm on a debate forum expressing them. You take issue with that? Disagreeing with you doesn't mean I think I'm smarter or better than you. Maybe you're projecting.

its not that you said it outright but that you claim to know more than everyone else on how we should live our lives,,

I didn't claim that. I'm expressing my opinions and disagreements on a debate forum, same as you.

The wrong question.

The right question is how much does society owe to the billionaires that create needed goods and services and created thousands of jobs?

Like Bill Gates. From nothing he created the software empire that enabled the computer age and in the process employed many thousands of people.

We owe him a lot more than he owes us.
Gates is a thief whose mother worked in government which gave him the knowledge on how to capitalize off taxpayers to make himself a billionaire.
I have nothing against rich people who earn their money----but Gates is a scum bag.

Gates produced a mega business that employs tens of thousands of high paid workers and produced a product that helped to foster in the age of computers not only for the US but for the world.

Nobody else did it and the ******* government sure as hell did not do it.

The ******* government may have created the internet for national defense purposes but it was Gates and Jobs and other individuals that made it a tremendous commercial success that increased the productivity of the world.

I don't like Gates. He is an idiot Libtard. However, we owe Gates a lot more than he owes us.

Some people need a village to wipe their own ass, others invent toilet paper. Which group do you identify with?

Have you not benefited in any way from society and the people around you?

15th post
but you arent debating,, youre stating you know better than we do,, and have not once submitted to proof you are wrong

Look, I don't know what your problem is but I'm getting bored. Have a nice day.
when you grow up and have to provide for yourself it will become clear to you,,, until then I suggest you spend more time listening than talking,,

at your age its more important to listen to others that have been there and done that,,,

I have plenty of mentors in my life. You're just somebody I'm disagreeing with online. I come here to sharpen my perspective through debate. You're the opposition, a stress test for my beliefs. I don't think I'm better or smarter than you. I just see things differently. It's actually other posters that have been posturing like they're better and have more weighty opinions.
