Just keeping it real 😉
I'm posting this in honor of Mother's Day tomorrow. I'm not a mom yet but I can see myself uttering an awful lot of these phrases and I probably heard most of them growing up too.

Tone deaf but funny as hell!
Yeah, I don't think that she was trying to be Whitney Houston. Here's another one.
So many mixed feelz
My Mom passed away when I was only 18 Months old or so. So, because both sets of grandparents took my brother and me in, we can either claim we really never had a mother, or we can make the case that we had several (including Aunts on both sides).
Growing up without a clear connection to our actual mom created in both of us a bit of an obsession for who she was, how different life might be had she survived, etc.
Now, after sixty years without her, I have a different image of her than I did when we were kids.
I lived a full life trying to make her proud. . . only to find out she did a few things (prior to passing) that probably would have made life equally hard, had she survived.
Life gets complicated, and it isn't fair.
I get it.
"Mother's day" is a great idea for those who have moms that they want to or can celebrate.
Not all of us do or did.
TMI?
Indeed, I tried to say that.No it's fine, but your mom can totally be whoever you want her to be. I'm adopted myself so I didn't come out of her tummy, but a mother isn't just somebody who gave birth to you, it's a whole LOT more than that.![]()
Indeed, I tried to say that.
Nothing but love for my Aunts and my Grandmothers who did the best they could.
