The tribulation was over by the fall of Masada or by 70 AD.. depending on the scholar. Christians fled to the mountains..to Pella... and avoided the whole thing.

The way you can tell the difference between what happened then and what is to come is to recognize the other things Christ said to look for.
Was the gospel being preached worldwide in 70 AD? Was there a 7 year peace treaty with Israel? Were their weapons that dissolved eyeballs in their sockets? Did the world watch as 2 of God's prophets rose from the dead?
I could go on with 100 more, but there is no need. None of the things Jesus described happened in 70 AD. They are in our near future.

The church or body of Christ, is the Israel of God, not the Jews that are cut off from the vine as Paul explicitly argues. Jesus in Matthew stated that the Jews of his age would lose the kingdom of God. It would be given to another nation, bearing the fruits of his father's kingdom. The Palestinians have more Middle-Eastern genetics, than the Ashkenazi European Jews. Assuming they even have any Middle-Eastern DNA at all. The Palestinians in general, have unique genetic connection to the Holy Land, going back thousands of years. They are the Israelites who converted to Christianity and Islam.
